Hi,
I heard from a player that a flamer does D6 S5 hit without rolling for hit.

I tought tzeentch flames was like normal missile weapon so:
-roll to hit with the normal modifiers (long range, moving, skirmisher target, ecc...) and than roll to wound.

Who is right?

thanks

D6 strength 5 shots IIRC (strength I'm unsure of). They don't hit automatically

If you arent sure...demmand to see the rulebook where it saysy that they get what your opponent claims them to have.

It's certainly not d6 st5 autohits.....

"The attack is treated as a normal missile weapon".

Normal missile weapons roll to hit.

Therefore Flamers roll to hit.

ask to see his daemon book, as my book has a completely different strength value for flamers.

:D Looks like they decided if they were going to cheat they might as well go the whole hog.

Raising the Str and making them autohit. What a guy!

tbh its hard to see why someone would need to cheat with flamers - they are pretty hardcore with their current rules

True.

But, WS of TWO and S of 5? -.-
Kinda not funny...

And yeah. So it is D6 S 4 SHOTS, and not hits :)

Also - keep an eye on him from trying to march and shoot! Its a normal missile weapon rather than a thrown one, so as far as im aware you can only move standard.

Agreed that D6 S4 is still pretty horrible, but at least if they've moved, and shooting at long range its 5s to hit, which could be worse at least! Just don't let them sit there and pummel you, or your unit will likely disappear. They're also flaming magical hits. Bring on the Dragon Armour!

You're right, but a thrown weapon can't be shot after marching either...

What a cheater! Hmmm my 6 flamers autohit 21 times at st5 wounding your t3 troups 18 times. That kills almost your entire unit (Panic tests.) Ohh, wait I still have 1 unit left. Man that makes my giant look sad for 5 more points eh?

Wait i thought the flamers ranged attacks were counted as normal missles and not flaming. I know they have flaming attacks in CC but thier missles counts as such also?

They have flaming attacks, not flaming cc attacks.

Besides, if you think about it, they shoot flames. Of course they are going to be flaming attacks...

Quite... All attacks by Tzeench units are flaming. So not that pleasant if youre a wood elf player or a tomb king...
