Here is the first in a new way I make mk3 Marines
true to the old models.
I was given the idea to use regualr termie shoulders to give that of the mk3 model you see in the Armor through the ages set
I would like to have five of these guys done in the next month or so

Love PH. Nice work - my criticism would be to make that bolter hole a bit bigger. Can't see that passing shells.

I really like the red and the conversions. However...the metallics seem a bit off, you might try drybrushing or some sort of shading/highlighting stuff on that.

They look great. I too would like to know where you got the studs from.

I think you are loading to much paint onto your brush its, overloading your detail and rounding everything out with a bubbly feel. Once you've washed stuff consider lightly going back and highlighting things with the original colour it will save you from the flat feeling you can get from a one tone wash colour, or do your highlighting before the wash if you think that it looks to clean. Cool conversions though no doubt about that.

Your painting skills have improved a hundred-fold since your Pre-Heresy Luna Wolves. Red really is you colour. This stuff looks great.

Keep it up, and good luck with your future projects!

What did you use for the studs? Looks like glue??

Esinhorn
27-06-2008, 21:18
You would be correct it is the PVA glue method, which can come out looking quite good.
I have one more to do for now then I'm moving on to a few White Scars.
I'd like to do a MK2 bike Commander and a few jumpack assault troops.

Thanks for the kind words Prax,I've had alot of practice since the wolves and I am going to do a few new wolves in a few months.
