Is there any way the Eldar craftworld would have assassins(maybe like outcasts hired to assassinate someone, or an assassin shrine(like not scorpions, but actual assassins)? I read the "fluff" in the eldar codex, and am sort of confused... If anyone would gladly answer my question, that would be nice.
BTW: I am talking about CC assassins too, not just sniping.

I assume so. The faces of Khaine that the Aspect Warriors manifest are manifold; those listed in Codex: Eldar are only the most common, not the exhaustive list.

I'm not sure if they exist anywhere in GW canon, but the universe is open enough that you could invent your own shrine for a brand of Aspect Warriors to suit your fancy.

a Specialised Assassain Shrine would be really, really cool, actually...did you have any ideas? If not, this thread would be a great place to brainstorm too.

i thought that was the role striking scorpions held.

SPOILER

More long the lines of Mandrakes, actually. There was a recent book a Striking Scorpion forced as a gladiator that was actually a Mandrake.

You might want to look through this (http://anargo-sector.net/community/index.php/topic,145.0.html) topic. We were trying to create a new aspect shrine and ended up with two potential new ones. However, what might interest you is that the concept of an assassin aspect is being dealt with here! :)

OMG!...I actually have lots of ideas. Some peeps at 40konline said an assassin shrine would be impossible. Well, so far I have a warp, toxic, mirage, and master assassin. I am going to make some "lesser assassins" that go in the squad with each type of assassin exarch(which I listed above). If you have any ideas for the special rules or wargear that would help a lot.

That was just a mandrake posing as a Striking scorpion, not a real scorpion.

re: assassin aspects, I'd say the primary assassins of the Eldar would be the Rangers, followed by the Striking scorpions and Warp spiders.

This is the 40k universe. Very few things are impossible, and nothing if you happen to be writing for GW. ;)

(I have a ridiculous internal debate as to whether it was a GW writer that came up with the "curving bullets" idea in the new film, Wanted. ;))

It's even possible that any such "assassin Shrine" might just believe that dealing death in any form, rather than just a themed way, is appropriate. Otherwise you might end up with the Shrines of the Officio Assassinorium.

:D

Can you give me a link that tells me this, or has any information about it?

The first thing that jumped into my head when you said eldar assassin, was the Mandrakes. (said to be SO, hard in the new codex, to match there appear from no where, and kick everything fluff) BUT its hear say.

Anyway, (off topic, sorry) :( i think something along the lines of the imperiums Officio Assassinorium would be good, but just one shooty, and one CC (possibly infiltrating, if not both)

Special rules, Infiltrate, move through cover, Stealth, Fleet, and "warlock armour" 4+ inv (cant remember the name) "rune armour" ?, but with an armour save to....

You do know that movie is based on a graphic novel, yes? It is comic book villainy.

And, as far as Eldar Assassins, of course they'd have something like that. I'd rather see one shrine that specialised in both range and up close, however. On the table, Rangers are a good representation of shooty assassins (as that is almost exactly what they are), but I would like to see something with more specialisation.

Actually, I didn't know that, Lothlanathorian. Graphic novels are not precisely my forte. :D Thanks for the pointer, though. I still wonder whether the writer was subsequently employed by GW given this new information. ;)

Well, good sir, he is a Scotsman, so, there is a chance they've run across each other before lol. All I really know is that the script for the movie was changed very much from the comic to make the movie appear 'not comic-booky' as, when they were writing it, comic book movies weren't the giants they are currently. If you get a chance to have a look at the GN, you will, however, see that the author's intent was to market it as a movie based entirely on the art.

On Topic: Would there be an aspect of Khaine, though, that is dedicated to sneaky into someone's room at night and killing them? The lack of honor there seems...questionable.
