I looked all over the rulebook and nowere did it say you cannot shoot over forests. Actually it said "difficult terrain is terrain that costs twice movement to move throught and can be seen over such as lakes, tall grass, FORESTS, etc. etc.

Therefore you can now see over forests unless their is a specific forest rule in the BRB.

Pg 9: Woods

"It is only possible to see through up to 2" of woodland."

"players should always assume that the entire base of the wood is covered in trees as tall as the tallest tree on the base,"

Pg 9: Hills & Elevated Positions

"When other pieces of terrain, such as woods,... block the line of sight of a unit on a hill, you should get down over the table and take a models eye view."

So from that I take it that should your troops be in an elevated position to be able to see over the woods (assuming the whole wood is as tall as the tallest tree) then they could shoot at a target visible on the other side.

You'd probably need a vary tall hill or battlement though.

Can you see a large target through a wood with no hill involved???

It's "evergrowing" so only indirect fire can see through woods.

No, because you can only ever see 2" into a wood. So you couldn't see anything through the wood if it was more than 2" deep.

You have to think of the woods like it was an actual woods it has brances fallen trees ect. so the rule is stated as you can only see 2' through woods and it is evergrowing which means you cannot draw line of sight through it or over; it's the tallest thing on the board!
