Hi all!

I decided to have a general project log instead because it seems that I will be doing more than just Fantasy stuff.

With the stream of painting commissions coming in, I reckon it'll be more than just WH Fantasy stuff.

ATM, I'm doing a squad of 20 Black Templar Scouts (read Neophytes) and here are some test models.

I'll bang in this blog my older pictures since I'll kill off the old Fantasy Plog.

Cheers Tizz, I'll be doing more Brets in the near future. The guy whom I did those questing knights for, wants me to do the rest of his army ;)

Putty old chap, marvelous stuff on that shuttle, the edging is very striking, particularly where its dark on the main body, less so on the wing where the base is lighter.

Whilst not keen on the whip, the carnifex is nice too. I think the green sorta comes from nowhere a little. It's not a colour you've used on it, or the gaunt, but is suddenly there. IMO, I think it would work better being the same colour as the tongue, maybe sharpen the end of the whip to try and model it more like the tongue. It seems a little chunky in places. The carapace however, is sweet. Nice work!

PS: Taking a look at your chaos... I like your knights! (You thought I was going to mention the marauders, didn't ya? Well ha! Oh wait...)

Hmmm whip? What whip? Uh... the green tubes are the feed for the guns :D and they are venomous, hence sooooo greeeeennn...

I do agree the green is SOOOO striking. Your idea for a more organic approach (using purple and pink) is an idea worth a try!!

I'll probably tone down the green with blendings of blues and purples, to give it a more organic look, i did think about how to add more detail to the tubes and your idea confirmed my suspicions!

My Undivided Knights are "okay". My Khorne knights are an embarrassment, thats why I didn't post a pic of them LOL!

And thanks for your approval of the shuttle terrain, they are lotsa fun to do and I really enjoy the results for them!

Oh bless, they look so cute, but they grow up so quickly.

You seemed to have developed a thing with drybrushing, and whilst its creates a good result, I can't help but think layering would be better. Saying that however, you probably won't get the same result so keep with it.

Putty
03-08-2008, 19:40
Actually I use a mixture of layering, drybrushing and glazing.

I'd admit, the drybrushing on the spinegaunt and SM isn't that good, i usually rectify the problem with some careful inking.

but them gaunts are so small... i'm having abit of a problem not over drybrushing them. LoL

I like the result of the Hive Behemoth (red and black) fleshgaunt, pity it won't be my scheme haha!

The primary coolness of drybrushing is that its a quick and good way to both do some highlighting and abit of detailing (and weathering), usually the main problem is my highlighting is better when i'm not painting 4 test models at the same time LoL; this is because I use one drybrush and changing colours to drybrush usually means the brush will not be totally dry.

hence the "overbrush"

The Hive Behemoth gaunt and the Carnifex are examples of good drybrushing, but my spinegaunt is not!

but your right... i love to drybrush, especially on big models!

drybrush much? maybe try some layering here and there and not do soooo much drybrushing.

the sheer rate you pump out the minis though is a force to be reckoned with.

Hehehe... your the 2nd guy to mention this.

I do minimal layering because it takes a lot of time.

I tend to do more layering for the consignments though.

As for my Nids, the drybrushing seem to have gotten worst... I need to do lots of touch up (ironically layering) afterwards... I suspect my drybrushing brush is giving itself up...

But yeah.... layering... I haven't actively done it since my test unit of 12 Chaos Mortals Marauders (see page 1 of this plog)

But thanks for the tip (and you too Nightsword) for mentioning the layering issue.... I admit i'm getting rather drybrushy happy as of late ;)

Got those Imperial electrical antenna thingys done too:

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b379/dezzo1979/boc8.jpg

and I was doing the last two models (the Sergeant Octavian & Lieutenant Varras) when i decided to do something else while the guys are drying...

hence i went into 4 hours of magnetising, cutting, pinning, digging, cursing and drilling (a few times with a power-drill) as I tried to magnetise my tyrant's wings (and failed) and ended up magnetising + gluing it to the model. Which also means I'll need to figure out a way to store 6 carnifexes AND a walkrant along with the merry crew of genestealers and gaunts into my army carrier bag in future....

Varras is pretty much faultless. The only think I could suggest to improve on, is the pistol. Its a little flat say in comparison with that awesome jacket that hasn't been drybrushed! Octavian looks ok too, if not having the same problem with his gun. I know some people don't like extreme highlighting, but I think some edging on the armour plates would look cool.

Can we have some close(r) up pics of flyrant? It looks very nasty from afar.

Damn mate, you read my mind! coz I am gonna try edging the armour plates with the left-overs of my Black Templar army. A buddy of mine gave me the BT upgrade set and I have been thinking about "master-classing" a squad of the guys...

I'm gonna try doing some mild highlighting later and see how it goes. Maybe I can paint the frame of that boltgun red or something.

I dunno man... i kinda like Varras for how he is... the simple gun he has kinda allows the rest of the model to shine. The aquilla on the other side of the gun is painted gold anyways, so its not that featureless xD

Ok, since you asked, I'm gonna try taking a few close-ups of the flyrant. I'm taking pictures from home today and the light is rather horrid. I'll see what I can do with a few close-ups.

Flyrant looks awesome. Really good mate, be proud. I love the "guns".

As for Octavian, remember what you told me? Remember where your lightsource is coming for your highlights. Your armour has highlights at the top, but the backpack, fingers, and the tops of the feet don't. The red on the pistol makes it looks more interesting. That's good, nice work. Now highlight it you lazy bas- I mean, I think you should edge it as well :D I also think the edges you've added want a lighter highlight just lightly touched, just to show how the very highest points have collected the most light.

Did I mention flyrant is awesome?

Okie, I went and did more highlighting (and a tad bit of wash to not over do it) and its pretty much done (I even highlighted the chainsword!). Damn camera won't pick up all the stuff and kinda overdid on some. *gives camera the evil eye*

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b379/dezzo1979/octyfinal.jpg

Thanks for your kind comments on the Flyrant, TBH i think i will go and touch up on the carapace again. The initial paintjob got damaged when I was working on the wings and it looks abit different from before. One of the main things that the camera didn't pick up is the streaks and perhaps this is because the application of the paint might be abit inconsistent.

I will post an updated pic of the Flyrant again.

Flyrant is awesome. Full stop. IFFFF (big if) you were to do it again/go back and touch it up, I have a few suggestions which im sure you're dying to hear. I think the tongue could use some gloss varnish (check out david rodriguez's slayer sword carnifex 07), and I think the claws in his chest could use some definiton/shading/streaking, like on magmatrax. Oh, and i cant tell if the eye is painted. Still awesome though. I mean very, I'm really envious.

And octavian is looking fab now. Well done friend.

Thanks for your kind comments

That's what we're all about. Praise given where praise due. That and I'm too nice and genuinely impressed :D lol.

My target was actually another 16 Spinegaunts but I ran out of time because I need to leave home for an appointment.

All this took 6 hours. xD

Looking good. This army is going to have a huge impact on the battlefield, arrayed as one massive "body". Nice work Putty boy. Can we have a close-up on one or two of them, just to check 'em out?

Right, you see in that second picture on the gun? There's like 2 "canisters" recessed between the plates. I think they could be blue, like on the clip. A couple of the arms have those recessed bumpy bits too (first pic, front 'nid for instance), that could have this blue added too. I also think the pipes could be a different colour e.g. the blue of your flyrant. Just little things like would help tie in the army IMO.

Looking good mate.

Yap, my 1st test model actually had those canisters painted. I don't know why I missed them out! O_o

Yap... I have been thinking of doing them pipes, I don't really know how to do them yet, hence left them blank. I think i'll do them like how i did the Dakkaflyrant's pipes.

BTW, something is wrong with the gaunts' tails... somehow they are sticky... I'd try and paint the tails again and reseal it to see if it fixes it.

Cheers for the pointers!

Turns out it is the varnish. The can is finishing hence the uneven mix. But no worries, i solved that problem with a wash of alcohol (the not supposed to be drunk type)

Pictures of the updated fleshgaunts. There are 16 now. Painted up the straggler. I think next weekend I'll work on the 16 Spinegaunts. I have a consignment of tiny goblins to finish next week.

Haven't had any time to paint this week... had some stuff to tidy up IRL.

Was sick 1/2 the week also to do anything productive, caught one of those flus that gave you nothing else but a fever, aches and a real pissed off mood.

One of the few highlights of the week was playing a 1000 point game with my buddy, Kevin, before he left for Gamesday UK next week.

It was unfortunate that we couldn't finish the game. becoz we had appointments to rush off too at the end of turn 3. xD

But here are the highlights of the game:

6 hours work eh? Very impressive.

For the orc, I'm really liking the blue face. You've washed that since last time, haven't you? I think you've got the problem I had with my marauders. IMHO, you need to reduce the amount of shadow showing between the muscles. How many different greens did you use, and did you mix them? I think you could use an intermediate layer of green between your darkest and the main colour, just to make it look smoother. That, and probably take the highlights one stage further. I'm painting my orc as I'm writing this, can you tell? I've fixed his skin by the way. A strange coloured wash, and two lighter highlights, and it looks much better! One highlight left I think.

Don't know if I've given you this before?:

http://www.coolminiornot.com/182859

Liking the woodies alot. I'd be inclined to pick out the flights of the feathers a little more, but the models look great. The faces in particular look great.

Yap! You showed me that link once.

I agree totally with the Ork's skin. I kind of went overboard on the inking.

I basically used:

Snort Green as base
Verduran Green (watered down) as 1st ink
Marrow Brown as 2nd ink

I didn't ink the Ork's face haha! I just painted it with Ultramarine Blue and drybrushed it with Bleach Bone. The Bleach Bone was extremely subtle but just enough to pick out the face.

Of course I had to touch up the mouth after this step.

I might consider using Black Green ink after the Snort Green base, I'll check the colour out when I'm at the store this friday.

I'm at two minds with painting the eyes for the two standing way-watchers. Yeah, I'd prolly ink the flights, they look rather flat.

This Friday it'll be bye bye to them Wood Elves. I'll take another picture of them Glade Guards before they are off to their new owner.

There might be a small update on those Goblin Skirmishes tomorrow. I hope there will be... 'coz the owner of those models have been waiting for them for 3 months? xD

Thank god his a really nice chap and ain't in a hurry! :D

You thought about purchasing the new washes?

What's up with the eyes of the two waywatchers? You thinking about whether to do them or not, or how to do them? Let's hope the "lovely" new owner of the woodies appreciates your work, because if not, set Fianceboss on him.

Looking forward to the gobbos!

Bretts:

I already said to you I think the blue looks a little dusty, but these two look great. I think layering instead of drybrushing with these guys would have been more beneficial due the nature of the miniatures. They're very clean, with smooth lines.

Ork:

Brets: I sorted the dusty problem out. It was actually a combo of the soft flash and the sealer. My sealer is running out, hence the mix in the can is rather inconsistent. I solved the problem with a wipe of alcohol. ;-)

Hmmm lighter highlight on the face? I'll try but looking at the actual thing its already very light (any lighter its gonna become really pale.) i'm gonna touch up the base and her boots though. I'll give her an overall touch up and attempt to do something about her face... maybe lipstick xD or blusher? :p

Looking tasty Putty. Perhaps do the eyes the same purple as those vents, they are very eye catching at the moment and you need the focus to be on the face. I would have even been inclined to paint his collar gold too to match his axes, just to home your eyes in to what will be a beautifully painted helmet I'm sure. Just my opinion though.

Looking very good mate.

Putty
29-09-2008, 05:35
Cheers Nighty.

Problem with Drago is his head is so small. The rest of him is huge and its nay impossible to put focus on his head. In fact... I think the guy who sculpted him, wanted the focus to be on his Dual Executioner axes (which are very devastating in game)

I should have invested in Blue and Orange / Red inks as those would have made doing the vents a lot more easier.

What I did was to paint them white and then after, electric blue. I think white and ink would have worked better because the vents would have looked deeper and more 3-dimensional

same treatment on Drago's eyes also, you can't see the colour because of the dramatic shadowing and his eyes are very deep into the helmet.

at this point, I think i'd have to redo his shoulder vents and maybe his eyes. would be going for the white and ink red/orange effect.

i thought about painting the colour gold too with silver studs. i decided to wait and see how it goes before committing. i'm kinda leading towards it now. Thanks Nightsword for the reconfirmation! ;)

won't get to touch drago till i get the inks. i'll attempt to post either orks or brets (more likely orks coz they are primed) the next post.

Ah, mob rule :) That's quite a tasty lil commission. My only point is on the fir bits on the helmets. The fur on the ork in the front row, furthest to the left, is really cool, and I think you should do the others like that too. Also, on some of them you've painted the strip on top of the slugga silver, whilst other's you haven't. Naughty putty ;)

Just want some randomness you know, they are orks ja? ;)

In fact, I have to restrain myself a little... IRL the models look almost too cluttered with details and colours.

but like what you said, orks paint themselves... they are a JOY to do... 100 times more fun then you know... space marines *roll eyes*

would be looking forward to do those rocket boyz... might throw in crazy stuff like freehand checkered patterns!

Once I'm done with the two rocket boyz it'll be Brets till I finish that commission and i'll take a break with either some nids and my own chaos (or both :p) before I start on the other bret commission.

i have that 3 figure WM mercenary commission and a sizeable battlelore + board game pieces commission to tackle in between and since WM models are relatively easy to paint, I might slip them in during the current Bret commission.

not too confusing aye? xD

I might have to butcher one of my Chaos Warrior models (the one that my fiancee painted the fur cloak white) as a Wulfrik conversion. I have enough stuff lying around + enough green stuff to either do a kick ass shield and axe for him or/and a badass base or something.

I'll definitely have Wulfrik in my army! So he is a must do! I haven't decide to use a beardy marauder head or a modified chaos warrior helmeted head for him... I might opt for a helmeted head... be cause it just looks so much more badass...

Nightsword
01-10-2008, 23:24
Aw, you kept your nightsword originals intact, but you'd happily butcher your future missus' cape (that sounds so odd...). Bless you.

I'd do you a deal on the Wulfric model, but by the time you factored in the postage, you'd may as well took the bus to your LGS. A conversion will look good. IIRC, there are spare "back" pieces (the bit with the cape and fur on) on the chaos sprue. I have 2 spare anyway for some reason...), so you could sculpt a torso? My plan before I bought the spearhead was to use a pair of marauder legs and combine it with the spare chaos cloak, and sculpt a bare torso in the gap, before beefing the legs up a little. Don't know if that'd work, I think it would. A helmet would look badass, but he's a drunk, so a hairy head is should be. Or have his helmet in his hand a la Sicarius ;)

Yeah, that's right, I brought up space marines in your log. What you going to do about it?

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b379/dezzo1979/khador2.jpg

IFP are relative easy to paint... problem is the super bendy pikes which I'm too lazy to replace with brass rods.

I failed in my quest to paint the shoulder vents of Drago, orange. I tried but the colour was too monotonous with the red armor, in the end I went back to blue, which provides a good contrast and a feeling of the subtle power of the Warjack.

Looking very tasty *yum*

Rocket boi 2 is incredibly good! Great job with them guys, I hope the guy appreciates 'em.

The Alexa model looks good as well, though I feel the face needs more definition, particularly on the cheek. I think the sculpt lacks some of the definition of a GW face perhaps, but maybe try to blend in a shadow on the cheek (see Razza's tutorial boiiii). The eyebrows need highlighting too, and there's a slight slip on the hair with the grey highlight I think you can easily tidy up :D

Drago turned out very well, it's a great job. Maybe try Razza's trick (on that bloodletter remember?), of highlighting the gold with silver, particularly on the axes. I think you achieved getting the focus on the face, which I think the blue/purple vents helps towards. I think the armour of the pikeman needs some defining, it's a little difficult to see some of the details, but that might be because the shield is casting a bit of a shadow. All in all, it looks very good!

Nice work mate.

Argh. I totally agree. Her face is darn big and will need a lot of work to make her look good. This is the best time to try Razza's tutorial.

I try the gold / silver effect but will do so sparingly... I want Drago to have a really rugged look and don't want to over-do the metallic effects.

That's it! The difference on the face is really quite noticable. Great job buddy.

I see you used the silver too on the Ironfang, you happy with it? Taking the shield for instance, the symbol is much more noticable, and you kept the rugged look you wanted supremely I think. And you added different edging highlights to the red too? Looks very good, really quite noticeable. You could take this even further by edging the silver on the shield too with mithril, which will carry on the whitish highlight you've added to the red nicely, really defining the shield.

Just like painting marines really... :D

Those SM backpacks are actual SM backpacks from SM sprues.

The guy who commissioned me to do them wanted add-ons because they were from the Death Skulls and because of their looting culture, they got them bits. ;)

I only have SM bits to throw in, hence most of them got SM upgrades. I thought about using Tyranid bits, but they don't go with the theme.

I also touched up Alexia today.

She is a very hard model to do because of her dark armor. I will have to touch up that sword a bit more to get the symmetry correct. Would have to work extra hard on those runewords because they are not very well casted.

Well... the brets are taking me very long because I have to clean the mould lines and wait for the basing to dry before spraying the primer. also, it was raining on and off today so drying times between coats of primer was slower.

I would try to finish 10 of the horses by end of this week (would be very daunting because i found out that i'd be working this Sunday too). Would need to finish at least 20 Bret knights next week so I can finish the whole Bret commission (still have 9 Grail knights (metal models) and a Pegesus Knight to deal with (Pegesus Knight would need a brass rod to hold it to the base) by mid November (optimistically)

I would really want to finish this Bret commission by then because the guy has been waiting for them for about 2 months. :(

Of course, in between drying times of the Brets I'm doing everything else LoL

oh yes... before i forget... Alexia:

TBH, I haven't mastered that effect. I would have done it for Drago if I knew how. Proper glowing effects are very hard to do.

The drybrush type renders the glowing effect very powdery. The blending one is very hard to do, because the damn paint has a tendency to flow INTO the damn gap.

I would probably work on that technique eventually. I tried to add the said glowing effect on the firing cap of my IFP pike, it failed quite spectacularly.

Noted and agreed. Would be tricky to do because IRL the skin and skulls are actually quite different. The skulls have a lot more shading and that sets it apart. The hues of the skulls and face are also comparatively different. The brown hues on the skulls are redder. Face is paler.

I'd try to get the lighting better in another picture.

She's clearly been around the block abit that's all ;)

Yeah... she would be facing sideways on the horse... the only way to get her facing forward is to cut her in half, cut away most of her cloak and GS it all on the mount.

PP models are very un-custom-friendly. I wanted to repose some of the Warjacks that I will eventually get (Destroyers mainly) but I looked at the models in their parts and I told myself to...

Many cheers for your kind comments~! :D

I'm better at building than painting, but here is one I painted as a test.
The camera flash washed out the colors a little.
That is actually tan skin with bone high light, not white skin as it looks in the photo.

Yeah... if GW's glade grass wasn't so "bright"

Here is another fex... I did up the Enhanced Senses head last night... magnetised it and stuck it on one fex... I don't usually use this head because it is Uuuugly... (i don't use it when i play with Kev but would need it if I play elsewhere WYSIWYG...)

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b379/dezzo1979/dakkafez.jpg

I decided that it is too expensive to use magnets for ALL the arms and decided to just add magnets to the main body and washers for the arms. I'm not sure if the washers will be strong enough to hold heavier arms like the Venom Cannon , Barbed Stranger or Scything Talons... will try it this weekend.

As for the glade grass, chuck some Devlan Mud on it. That's what I did with my bloodletter to make it darker. or not, if you don't want. Perhaps test it fist before doing it on the commission stuff.

Nice work on the Bretts. When do we see the grail knights, and the "other" elves?

The recipe is very simple...

Chaos black base. Bone White (Bleached Bone) drybrush.

I'll only do the Grail Knights last because they will need ALOT of attention... the guy wants them to be done "differently" than the other knights because they are the hammer unit.

I will be including swirls on their lances and coloured strips along the sides of the horses and/or shields.

The rest of the "elves" will be on and off... I need to really finish this regiment of 11 horses (which 6 is done and 2 more base coated and 3 more just in prime) by this week...

I actually base coated 1 Wardancer and inked it somewhat... might touch up on it later if i'm bored. xD

Now that looks heavy duty. The fact that it isn't all one colour on the outside is start. I hope people take note of this, it's brilliant. It actually looks armoured rather than painted by the techmarine's combi-spraymelta in the fortress monasteries workshop.

Ok, some constructive advice. To really make them pop, I suggest highlighting the gold aquilas on the outside with a gold/mithril silver mix. The depth is there already, this will just make them shine even more. I also still think the red could use another coat. Some of the lines need straightening, and at the moment it just looks painted on. Maybe take a darker red and line the edges, just to make look like it has some depth. Just a suggestion ;)

Me likely muchly, makes me want to break the DA out. I won't, because I have no time again this (I also buggered up the plates on the orc on his um... groin - Damn metallic blending).

Nice work buddy.

I was recommending the doors to be blue and metal actually but the guy wanted them to be all metal, lets see what he says after seeing this sample.

His aquilas in his chapter are all brass, doing gold + mitril highlights would be good, i would add that if he wants that.

i was xD at the red comment... coz the red IS painted on xD xD, but yeah I get the point, might need to crack out the scab red or something to create more depth but actually some weathering has done some depthy work already, the camera didn't pick it up properly. Will try another picture with tactful lighting later.

I knew you were going to say that ;)

How did you do the metal sides?

I think there are still a few things that could be done to it (Like always with a project like this), such as perhaps painting the gaps between the foot railings on the folded down "wings" black, or maybe some heat damage around the vents and stuff. You know, cosmetic things that aren't really necessary, they just look cool.

Impressive stuff buddy, you do these vehicles very well, it's a wonder why you play tyranids... You should be a guard player!

What metal sides? You mean the red/white strips?

Structurally, those gaps don't need to be black. It would be black if they were gaps per say but they aren't. The grooves on the bridge actually are there to prevent Spazemarines from falling down when they run out (or walk, stroll, roll whatever) from the drop pod... so they aren't grills per say, but grooves.

So...the gaps will be black if it was a grill over it. No point painting stuff on-top the model if they serve no purpose xD... Utilitarian painting style... that is me xD

But I will take your advice about those venty things... i might do something with it... maybe with some brown ink hehe.

Me a Guard player? Argh... IG is an expensive army to collect... and flashlights aren't my cup of tea either... I would play DKoK if i had the money and I started with Black Templars so I won't go "backwards" by playing IG.

Why I like Tyranids? Well, because they do not serve a hypocritical purpose of that of the Imperium.

and also, they are very anti-space marine.

yes, dezzo, the anti popular culture person. ;)

"outside of the folddown wing bits" i swear sometimes you talk like Christine xD

My recipe is simple (as usual).

Mithril silver (brushed on) and ink with Chaos Black Ink (watered down 1:1).

To create streaks (between weathered or not) I used alcohol, in this case Tamiya Acrylic Paint Thinner (any hobby grade paint thinner is ok), put it on a cotton bud (those you dig your ears with) and take off the ink.

I use only 1 silver and that is Mithril. It is the best and most versatile colour because you can ink it down, ink it over with other colours and create a spectrum of metallics without buying other metallic colours.

You can get very convincing golds, bronzes or silvers with just inks or washes.

I love my Mithril Silver :D

I don't know... I prefer my exalted champions mounted...

but for the WHF WoC list I'm fielding, I'm choosing Sigvalt and Wulfric... no more cheap champion characters for me... since they made it not economical to do so.

I'm leaning towards a Nurgle Exalted Champion or Lord on a Daemon Steed... which I can prolly mod one out of one of my metal knight champions.

I would love to buy more of those old 6th ed metal knights... but they are so expensive...

My lord of khorne is a real unit, but could you imagine a Nurgle Exalted Champion in a unit of nurgle knights with the banner of rage? lol. And i used Valkia and Wulfrik lol XD

I might be able to help with the knights. I have 10, the 5 converted Khorne ones in my log, but 5 undivided "Swords of Chaos", which when stripped would be as good as new. I think it's pretty much gaurenteed that I'm getting a box of the new ones for christmas off my brother (which will be customised hopefully, to Archaon's bodyguard :p).

The Anima figure is from the Anima Tactics Table top game.

You can find some of them here: http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/anima-tactics-miniatures.asp?offset=0

They have an extensive selection of models (but however, the sculpt can be inconsistent).

They are about the same scale as Warhammer Fantasy models which is roughly 1/85 is it? For the best scaling comparisons, the Claire Adelheid model is the same size as the running Wardancer model.

Awesome stuff mate, probably would have been done quicker if I hadn't been distracting you :p

BTW: The wardancers are excellantly done, looking forward to seeing some 'cron goodness.

Cheers mate ;)

Just a minor update of something I done up a few weeks back, my own model of Wulfric.

He is just a kitbash of Warrior and marauder parts. There was some GS involved to making his armor less "Warrior-like"

Woo, that base of vlad (difficult to see his face tho ;)) is pretty damn good mate, and the tyranids are your usual standard mate, which is as ever, pretty damn impressive. It's getting boring now, do something rubbish! Mwa ha ha ha.

Quite some lovely miniatures you got yourself there, particularly loving the Knights of the Realm and those Genestealers with tendrils (?) have a very nice colorsheme going for them. I really like your metals and the general dusty/dirty/battleworn look you do.

Thanks Aulbath! ;)

Some random update of some Drakon boardgame pieces I am trying to paint...

they are very challenging to paint because the sculpt is poor and the plastic is rubbery.

and they are very small xD
