So I was playing around and came up with this:

1 Oldblood: Spawn of Itzl, Tepok and Sotek; Scimitar of the Sun Resplendent, Glyph Necklace, Enchanted Shield, Light Armor, on Carnosaur: 493

Only 3 Dispel Dice to defend myself against magic, but I should have a healthy amount of my army in combat by the second turn. Normally I'm totally against an army devoid of magic, but I also like dinosaurs. :X

One thing I was considering was dropping the Glyph Necklace in favor of the Maiming Shield... but that's mostly because 9 attacks from the rider on the charge just tickles my insides.

I see big problems with what you think you could do with this army.

Armylists that have good ranged weapons like B.throwers, cannons etc, etc ain't going to give you second turn charges. Your going to have trouble with your units get baited, delayed then shot/magiced.

Alot of other armies will have units that have longer charges ranges than your fast elements. They'll be able to pick charges. Brets, empire, VC for example

Even medium level magic phases will get there money's worth against this list. Deamons O&Gs and HE magic phases for example are super aggressive. They'll have targeting issues but they're free to cast what ever they want.


I think 2 x stegs, carno + cavalry is really agressive and I like that, but I don't think your support them very well.

Itd be better to knock your saurus unit size down to 15 and loss full command and go for just standards and just muscians on the cavalry, then buy a unit of terradons to help hunt MWs + more skinks for meat shields and harrassment value.

Basically, I did what you suggested, dropped cavalry champions, cut down to 2x15 saurus, added 3 Terradons, and upgraded from 12 scouts to 20 scouts. I was considering cutting out one unit of 10 scouts and taking 12 more Skinks, but I'd need to come up with 2 points. :-(

Looks better, due to the terradons. Your oldblood, howver, looks very fragile. U have a weak save of 2 up, and no re rolls.

Dropping 2 cav for huanchis anner would help. U can avoid stand and shoot or flee reactions.

Sarri really like to have a BSB around.

Yeah, the cost of a BSB is prohibitive in this army, I'd have to drop either a full unit of cavalry, saurus or stagadon to get it, so for the purpose of this list, I don't think it would work out. Dropping 2 cavalry gets rid of the only ablative wounds that the units have and any wounds they then suffer from shooting will immediately dip into attacks in combat.

I was also tempted to go for the re-roll spawning, but that's another 15 points to have to dig up.

How far are you going to take the Jurassic park theme? I'm thinking bits of electric fence or signs on the bases, maybe Dr. Alan Grant riding a stegadon.

I was going to take it no where, haha. I just had to come up with something creative to call an army of big lizards.

isn't there a specialised white dwarf list like carnosaur valley list its full of just monsters . ..

i like your list a lot, i play against lizzies a lot and although i don't know their list perfectly, you could really use some chameleon skinks to knock out some cannons/rock lobbas on the first turn to reduce really painful (and expensive) casaulties....
