Does anyone know of any pics that show what extra armor would look like on a dreadnought?

I don't recall any. I imagine plates over the exposed hip joints, the torso ring and the sides would represent it pretty well. I've never done it because I figure the leg plates would be curved or it could be a skirt on the bottom of the chassis.

Didn't FW have one?

I just made some plastic card shields and used magnets to hold them on.

Looks very knightly.

My dreadnoughts have a special armor coating sprayed on before battle. The only issue is after many days in the field the armor coating deteriorates and needs to be re-applied at a supply station.

(I don't model it).

I always wanted to model a dreadnaught on a binke (since the rest of my army is on a bike) maby I could use it as extra armor. since no one wants to give me turbo boost with him :D

I know this is about Space marine dreads but for a great pic of ork dreads with extra armor look it up in the 4th ed rulebook,
Anyways more on topic i think FW has something like that.

The marines are getting a new dread called an ironclad. It's a seige varient with better armour (13/13/10). I do know that there will be a model of it, but not sure if it will look any more armoured than normal dread.
If so that could be a solution
