Check it out here. (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/274410)

The flash animation is real good, and the models aren't bad themselves.

And of course, it uses the infamous "Ultramarines Chant" from Chaos Gate. Perhaps the best 40K track ever.

The music just didn't work for me and the Drop Pods sure could have been better, but other than that, two thumbs up.

Part 2 should be interesting...

Yea, I didn't like the pods either.

However, the Eldar Warlock running up and beeping their Terminators up was awesome. Thats how a Warlock SHOULD be ;D

Can you point me in the direction of the DoW tracks? I've tried various underhanded methods of extracting them from the CD, but no success. Cheers,

Just scroll down to "Sounds" and you'll find three Zips containing some of the tracks. Enjoy :D

Considering the lack in general of 40k flashes (let alone good ones) this was a welcome surprise. Its not fantastically polished and is abit mindlessly violent really. Not that mindless violence is a bad thing but I'm hoping part 2 has more plot than random fights.

Yes the drop pods were bad though, considering the ability shown in the marine and eldar models I can't imagine the artist not having the skill do draw the proper teardrop shaped drop pods.

The chaos gate music is Carl Orffs "Carmina Burana". You'll be able to find it very cheap in most music stores with classical music - my copy was ap. 3 euro / 3 $ / 2£.

And yes it is perfect for 40k

Yea the visuals and music were really great and gave it an amazin mood. Looks like they took alot of inspiration from the DoW open scene with the way the bolters and lascannons fire, along with the way the air support was flying.

But those crates that can survive planetfall. By the look of those I was seriously expecting guard to start pouring out of the boxes by the horde.

Other than those crates really looking forward to the rest of it though.

The music for Chaos Gate was composed by Jim Crew (definitely inspired by Carmina Burana) and had its own 8-voice choir as well as electronic orchestration. Jim Crew also composed music for "Amber: Journeys Beyond," "Avalon Hill's Squad Leader," and "Temüjin." I have a disk of MP3's from "Chaos Gate" somewhere around here; I used to listen to it during tabletop 40K games. Chaos Gate was fun, and the music still is my fave game music of all time.
