View Full Version : Orks of the Brass Ballz Klan

After thinking about the new starter set and how great of a deal it is, and keeping in mind that I have every 40k army BUT orks, I decided that the ones included would be the base of a new force.

I don't know if the army will end up being any sort of following rules selection, mostly just the stuff I think looks cool, but the waaaaggghh may build from there.

On top of a couple of starters, I've ordered a battleforce and a box of lootas to get me started, but picking up the codex I couldn't wait to start on SOMETHING... so I decided to try scratchbuilding some stuff. I figured with orks the worst I could do will still probably look orky.

First off is a deff dread... the paint job isn't finished, but I've spent enough time on it for today, and secondly is my battlewagon. I think I'll be adding two turrets on either side in the back, as well as a central turret with a zzap gun on it, and adding ramshackle walls to hold the 20 boyz and such. It'll also end up with a lot more detail and armour plates and things tacked on.

Anyway, let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas for the wagon, or anything orky that would be cool to build... just not stompas, or whatever their titans are!

(Ps, can anyone tell me how to put the pictures into my post instead of attachments? I'm lost)

Dread and Wagon look cool. The dread especially. Use [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags for in post imaging, without the spacing in between.

Small update with work on the battlewagon

I still have to add armour and stuff on the one side, as well as rivets... how does the armour look so far though? I'm not really sure, this is my first attempt doing things like that...

Good lord, is that a Tonka Truck? lol

great ideas and work so far (love the clan name too).

Sort of, it's a dump truck I picked up at a dollar store, it's about the same size as a land raider, just a lot taller... Which actually I just thought of last night for the new line of sight rules, especially with the towers... but if anyone ends up having a problem with it I don't mind pretending the guns are at a much lower spot.

Thanks for the comments

Small update, I've almost finished the battlewagon, but the progress I figure is too little to post until it's painted...

Besides that, I've built 3 bikers and they're nearing being fully painted, still need some work.

I've also made a Wazdakka model cause I think he's awesome and I love the bikes, so far I've ordered about 22 of them, so having him to make them troops is a good idea. He has his own thread so I won't say much, just that he's not finished and a sort of horseman of the apocalypse/ghost rider type feel in my head, and I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.

I love your ideas with the cheap toys for the Battlewagon, I am doing a similar thing on my stompa, I dont understand why this log hasnt yet been rated, well Ill rectify that. Maybe you could build another apocalypse ork vehicle like a flakwagon, or a submersible.

Thanks, and I was actually looking at the submersible a couple of days ago and starting to think about making one, it might be fun. Thanks for the rating too.

I had a package arrive today

And so I got some more work done on Wazdakka... he's all built now and just needs his paint job finished.

The flames look great! I can't wait to show my orky friend that. Of course, He will probably not get on for another week, But I digress.

What in the bloody hell...

No more to say.

I really like your take on wazdakka and the extremely ramshackle battlewagon!

Keep it up.

Threadromancy at it's greatest...

My orks got put off by a combination of school and trying to think of new ideas on how to convert things and make other things orky.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to come up with that many more ideas about converting... however in the meantime I've managed to accumulate a few boxes of ork stuff and have it all sitting here waiting for construction.

First thing I built were three killa kans (not included in the picture- I have 3 more :D) and I love the models. Probably one of my favourite. Here's work on the 1st one.

The only thing I'm not sure of is the horns... I don't know how to paint bone to look good. Any suggestions?
