I'm in the process of building up my new 8 monstrous creature army (see the army list; thread entitled "the 8 monstrous creatures; 2000) and am just aiming to get the fexes and tyrants, but the tyrants are really important and must be done w/ all the details right etc. Fexes are too. I don't know what to get. I already own one fex (merely for show) and want to get my hands on a tyrant, but fexes are a real pain in the ass for me to put together and whatever. Which would you get if you had to choose one (and you'll still need another tyrant and 8 fexes).

Help please. How hard is it to give a tyrant wings and stuff. I need help.

Also need help with color schemes. Was thinking along the lines of black and gold or black and bright green (scorpion green). Yay or nay?

Yay on the colour schemes, bright green flechy parts and black armour looks really good on 'nids.

But should I get a Tyrant or a Fex? And names too. I really need help with the army. Please help out. I'm desperate for it.

I don't really understand what you're asking. You need six Carnifexes and two Tyrants in order to have eight TMC's, right? So I think the decision's made for you already.

Id buy the tyrant first, even though its metal, but it is alot better then a fex, also ive seen some good wing conversions, at Warpshadow.com

I've seen an awesome conversion of a winged tyrant using a 3rd Eddition "Alien Queen" tyrant head and a Lord of The Rings Fell Beast (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99111499032&orignav=16). But that's not cheep cash-wise, and New Line's lawers are likely to take to it with a hammer if they see it.

you can always convert a flex into a hive tyrant.

New Line doesn't care what *you* do. They just put rules in place to reduce the chances of GW getting LotR gamers to cross over to WFB and 40K (the only reason GW wanted the license). *GW* is prevented from encouraging the mixing of lines, but nothing is stopping you.

Heck you can even take it to a GW event and win with it (because it's a GW part/mini), but GW can't/won't put it's picture in their official pubs (because that would be promoting it).

Doesn't this Tyrant (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=COMP0106032&orignav=301117) look suspiciously like something (http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/Alien-Queen-statue-signature.jpg)from a movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090605/)?

get carni's first, the models are awesome, and they are plastic so they are an easy way to begin

Oh. I hate tyrant. My favorite Tyrants are the new one and the old old one (the second ed one I think). I decided that if I ever get Tyrant guard, they get the 2nd ed tyrants as guard.
