Hi Warseer,

Many of you here know your stuff, and the topic of Ultramarines comes to light from a friend of mine with the following questions:

Does anyone know (for example) when the Battle for Black Reach was exactly? Has anyone seen a date?

Does anyone know when Calgar was born?

Also... If you're feeling like helping an old Smurf... Do any of you have any old reference material for the Ultramarines? Pre-4th Edition stuff... Little nuggets hidden away in your old Codices...

What I'm looking for (mainly) is dates/events... Anything from pre-Heresy to the 42nd millenium... But I'd also like any names (Captains, Sergeants, Chaplains, Librarians, Dreadnoughts, Strike Cruisers etc.) or other interesting facts...

Thanks in advance!

The ultramarine omnibus is a good start. Gives a few names etc and sicarus is also the captain in Black reach.

Unsure about the next book killing ground as i havent read that yet.

Plus you could also get the book from black reach that is comiig out at the same time which is based on dare i say "black reach" ;)

Black Reach is in the southern region of Ultramar.

One other tidbit I never see mentioned is how Marneus gained his bionics:
Following a skirmish against Hive-fleet 'Perseus' in 976, Calgar lost all four limbs as well as large areas of body tissue and his left eye. Now fitted with bionic replacements, he is more machine than man.:chrome:

Very very old fluff! Interestingly, the 'more machine than man' fluff is now rumoured to be referring to Master of Sanctity Cassius in the new Codex who also lost his left eye, large areas of body tissue and all four limbs fighting the tyranids... :)

With regard to the opening query, the Bolter and Chainsword has an extensive library of Ultramarines info here (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=94943&st=0&start=0), and here (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=132935&st=0&start=0).

Cheers guys, I have read all of the marine stuff, and I found a massive timeline on the B&C.

@ Apologist, Thanks, but I found it a few hours ago!
