EDIT:
I'll convert this thread to a "allround" 40k blog, because I have too many armies. Having one thread for every army would be to difficult to keep them all up to date. So will use this thread as a general 40k blog for all my armies :)

Starting with these rotten guys in late 2005 as a 3rd Edition DEATH GUARD ARMY, I just finished my new Obliterators and made them 4th / 5th Edition compatible.. Maybe I'll add some Havocs with Autocanons later... We'll see

ENJOY!

I love the conversion work on the daemon prince. The mask looks great. Very inspiring.

Also, the skeleton hanging onto the storm bolter on top of the rhino is another nice touch. Keep up the good work.

Great job, though I don't know how effective that chainsword beneath the Predator's lascannon is gonna be.

It's for when the opposition knows they can't win, they just throw themselves onto the chainswords of the DG tanks. :)

Good work and it's actually a cool touch.

Army. Of. Win!!!11!!ROX

Fantastic colours on the rhino and the dreads. The muted drab green works a treat on DG. Any chance of a recipe?

hey guys.. I would like to change the title of this thread from old name:
zigoR's LEGIONS OF PLAGUE

to new:
zigoR's general 40k blog - DEATH GUARD, STEEL LEGION, WHITE SCARS and more...

How does it work? Do I have to contact a moderator? Could find no answer in the FAQs so far... :|

here we go...

This is my IG Armageddon Steel Legion, Division Kronenbourg. I started with IG in Summer 2004, when I re-entered the hobby after a 4 year break.

I painted them extremely "quick & dirty" as you can see on the close ups...
and I used them a lot in tournament games, therefore they "sufferd" a lot...

With the new codex IG release, there is somekind of motivation for me to repaint them, and to REPAIR them... in addition I'll add all advisors for the Company Command Squad and 2 more Valkyries, maybe some Elysians inside (got 15 of them, but nit yet assambled / painted)
One more Baneblade and a Shadowsword are also in the "pipeline"...

You'll note, that there are some conversions, like the lasguns with wheels,... >> used old Cadian metal parts... This was before GW decided to change there bits-selling-system...

okay, 'nough said... have fun :)

WOAH! The Death Guard army is outstanding:eek: (and that said by a player who dislikes Chaos)
Your Steel Legion has the right gritty feeling...and am looking forward to see the officer of the fleet painted.

Drakon
06-06-2009, 03:45
Thats a nice simple idea and will look good once painted. And even your quick and dirty still comes up good.

Notice your mainly heavy weapons and little on troops is this how you play with them? if so are they very competitive. I'm currently in the process of putting an IG army together which will mainly be troop based but are wondering if I should focus on heavy weapon squads?

zigoR
06-06-2009, 23:51
@drakon:

never had bad experience with too little troops - 40 to 60 infantry men is more than enough. As IG player you can't have too many heavy weapons ;) and with new "order system" it works perfectly! Especially "Bring it Down" or "Fire on my Target" works very good with heavy weapons squads.

******************

I'm currently painting (just have a short coffee creak) my DEATH WATCH KILL TEAM! They are waiting for years now ... to be honest, exactly for three years :wtf:

I made some cool conversions:

http://divine-design.de/hobby/tut/dw_tut1.jpg
http://divine-design.de/hobby/tut/dw_tut2.jpg

bits names are german, sry for that... but I think it's very clear what kind of bits I used...

In the meantime the "terminator honours" are removed.. I think it was a bit too much..

Well...I'll post some pix of the painted squad tomorrow.

good night!

Sorry for the necromancy, but WOW... I didn't know you had so many armies, ziggi!

Is there another one yet to come? Or at least some more minis for your already existing ones?

I'd love to play against one of them when I'm in Nidderau for the RMM, maybe in the evening with a couple of canned beer? =)
