What are some of the best Vampire Lord Builds?

I personally like

CC Vampire Lord - 355 pts
Cadaverous Curiass
Dread Night

4 hits at STR 7 w/ a 3+

Magic Vampire Lord - 450 pts
Book of Arkan
Wristband of Black Gold
Helm of Commandment
Forbidden Lore
Master of the Black Arts
Summon of Your Choice

Flexibility and provides a bound movement and WS improments

Vampire Lord
+ lvl 3
Wristbands of the Black Gold
Flayed Hauberk
Helm of Commandment
Black Periapt
Forbidden Lore - Lore of Beasts
Dark Acolyte
Flying Horror

Flexible, protected, supportive, has very long range, and with some luck (Bear's Anger) can pack a serious punch.

Lvl 3 Lord
Master of the black arts
Raise ghouls
crown of the damned
sword of might

Great caster but can still hold up against most things in combat.

Lvl 3 Lord
Master of the black arts
Forbidden lore (vampires)
Lord of the dead
Flayed hauberk
Helm of Commandment
Crown of the damned

Wicked caster with all the spells he'll ever need, and nigh unkillable :D

Vamp Lord - 205
Lv. 3 - 50
Forbidden Lore (Beasts) - 35
Red Fury - 50
Flayed Hauberk - 25
Crown of the Damned - 35
Talisman of Lynci - 10
Black Periept - 15
= 425

Good caster, but even better fighter when you get Bear's Anger off and go rip up a big unit. Average 4 or 5 wounds a combat with M 9!

Always considered this the best combo for a lord:

Vampire lord w/ extra level

Infinite Hatred
Master of the dark arts

Sword of Might
Bloody haulberk
Book of Arkhan.

4 S6 attacks re-rolling misses + S4 steed attack.
Carries book to free hero vamps points up
Leaves the Flayed haulberk for a hero vamp.
1+/5+ which is usually better then 2+/4+.
5 Power Dice

Thats the best combo imo. Oh and despite the steed he still joins grave guard. I dont like lord characters in units of knights.

master of black arts,
summon power.
staff of +1 to cast/dispel
helm of commandment

3+2 powerdice himself, summons whatever he wants to summon on 3+.
also has the Ws7 hat to hel him avoid combat, and he knows all spells.

considered in many places the best lord around as there is no need to put lots of protection against him since the lack of wardsave will make him die anyway against a serious enemy.

my all-rounder:

Vampire Lord
lvl 3
sword of might
walachs bloody haubark
helm of commandment
dark acolyte
forbidden lore
infinite hatred

alot of casting, and not to bad in CC if it comes to that. hellsteed for hasty getaways or charges at the end of the game.

Vampire Lord: Level Three, Master of the Black Arts, Ghoulkin, Summon Ghouls, Flayed Hauberk, Skull Staff, Biting Blade
Total: 440

Ideal for sitting in the middle of an army of ghouls chain casting invocation (cast on a 3+ is so nice with a potential 7 casting). If she does get into combat she is able to fight off most basic troops with ease, and with a ghast in her unit she should never meet a character killing hero/lord choice.

Its my most successful combo to date.

Vampire Lord
Level 3 upgrade
Spectral horror
Avatar of death (great weapon)
Dark acolyte

This is one of the ones i use as my third lord choice. stick him with a unit of wraiths as an uber champion (hence the GW) and a level 4 mage to boot.
Possibly not a 'powerbuild' but great fun.

The ethereal lord competes with my Utility Lord for the 3rd slot as below:

Vampire Lord
Level 3 upgrade (it's rude not to)
Flying horror
Hunter in the dark
Supernatural terror
Armour of the Night
Rod of Flaming Death
Black Periapt

his job is to scout (and deny enemy scouts position on the board), fly over and cause terror, march-block, whilst also being out of everyones charge arc and being very difficult to shoot. He then uses the rod to shoot whatever he lands next to and hopefully cause them to panic and then attack enemy artillery turn 2.
(good luck cannon sniping him when he's stood next to your big uit of knights
If the going gets tough, he can fly around and get to where he's needed to bolster combats with his nice vampire lord stats.

i've noticed that trying to mix magic and cc in one character always leave you wishing you had stuck with one or the other. It's sort of situational, but I always end up wishing he had that extra bite, or that extra power dice. It also helps solidify which unit is doing what, when you know what each characer in that unit is capable of.

i take a cc vampire lord, as my army is blood dragoned-out.

Vampire lord
w/ infinite hated, avatar of death(great weapon), walking death, beguile
w/cadaverous cuirass, crown of the damned, cursed book, the gem of blood

often times i switch out the cadaverous cuirass and gem of blood for the flayed hauberk and cursed book, just as fun.

he can hold his own against just about anything in wfb, he even has a slight chance of wrecking a bloodthirster. i run him against my friend's all-slaanesh demons list, and he regularly murders the kitted-out keeper of secrets.

i take another cc vamp hero, a wight king bsb, and a vampire with lord of the dead and the flayed hauberk for magic power.
