Just a crazy thought - imagine an army with Hellebron, 2 cauldrons of blood and MSU witch elves. Executioners can also join the fray if you're not so interested in purity of theme, with maybe COK and war hydras to cover main weaknesses.

Strengths - Slaughters troops with low to mid armour in seconds.

Immune to psychology on the majority of the army, stubborn on the majority of the army.

Weaknesses - Not much to dent high armour save troops. Except Hellebron, KB from cauldron, and any of the support troops above.

Magic defense - If you take purely death hags then you can't have any magic items except those on champions. Which means you have ring of hotek on a COK and/or a couple of null talismans. This won't do the job at all. Shadowblade is a possible option but 2 special characters costing 3/8 of your army? :cheese::cheese:

Reliability - with frenzy and hatred your troops aren't always going to do what you want them to.

Therefore this army will have to rely on mage hunting through harpies and potentially mounted hellebron. Lets hope the mage isn't a KOS!!

Overall a niche army at 2000. But at 3000 points, breaking with background a little (so a caddy and Master with ring of hotek in place), this cuoldmake for a very brutal game. Even with a special character I wouldn't call it an unfair army because of such obvious weaknesses.

I will post a list later - has anyone tried the concept as yet?

Go by the Malus Darkblade books, include a 'wizard' (acolyte of khaine) specialised in disrupting the magics of the enemies of your god ;)
