View Full Version : Muffe is trying to do Orks!!!

03-11-2008, 22:55
Hello there, thanks for stopping by to this hopefully long army blog.

I have been playing 40k for many years now, played space marines, eldar , tau, but never Orks. So I thought, now is the time to take up the WAAAAAAAHG!...

Now im not really sure what to put in to the army, but as all my armies I tend to build, it will contain alot of models wich I think look really cool. And since this army will be for a tournement it also has to be painted very fast or "very".. The tournement is in the end of February.

So as of yet I have some Nobs I got from the white dwarf edition to try out some colour schemes and paints on since I have never ever painted a ork in my life. f

Tomorrow I might go to the shop and start the army off with the 40k Starter set to get all the orksies there.

but before that I have tonight testet out a ork colour scheme wich I will show here. I have decided on the Bad Moon clan as I have painted very litle yellow along the years aswell, trying to test myself;) ..

But without wasting to much time, here is the picture:

as you see he is still WIP.. comments and critics are more then welcome :)

Interesting green, i like it!

He looks like tropical fruit :)

Looks great so far! That green is just awesome.

Not sure about the checkers though. I seem to remember something about it being a Goff clan thing. Not sure if they will like it! lol

Apart from that, i would suggest maybe full yellow armour with red flames. Or maybe even yellow and some other colour for checkers?

Keep the paint flowing!

Wow, the skin is really looking fantastic.

02-01-2009, 12:17
Wow, your green and yellow are amazing! What are you planning with the bases?

02-01-2009, 12:19
Thanks all! :) for the bases I am planing a Urban ruin thing. I ordered some bases from a site on the net and im gonna try to build some of my own.

I have somewhat of a deadline the 22nd of February, thats when the tournement this army is being made for will be. So I hope I can do the bases to the quality that I like :) starting on the lootas today, so might come some photo's of them later

hello again.. been ages since I posted anything here, I know I am very slow at updating.

But right now I need help from you guys on deciding the front of my Battlewagon..

I have painted part of it red, since it will have the red paint job upgrade, but I have also tried to paint yellow and black warning stripes on it aswell.
Here is a picture to show you what I mean.

what do you think, should I go for it like this?.
If so then I will also dirty it up and put scratches on it and stuff like that :)

More pics please.

10-02-2009, 20:27
thanks for all the comments :)

I will try one of these days to take a picture of everything thats painted. And some close pictures of some of the units I havent shown yet

10-02-2009, 20:32
i love the coppa boy nob - the skin looks really good on him.

10-02-2009, 21:24
thanks :)

but what do people think about the Deffrolla/dozer.. Does the black and yellow stripes work on it?

10-02-2009, 21:43
The deffrolla looks GREAT, it's a good idea for the most part welll executed. those massive spikes on the rolla itself, however, make it look as though the deffrolla can't complete a full revolution, much less "rolla". If i were you, I would cut them down a bit.

11-02-2009, 10:38
The battlewagon looks really good. I would definetly do what Lepp suggested. I think it also needs some armour plates and rivets on it.

Have a look at the forgeworld deffrolla that might give you some ideas, theres one in my project log if you can't find a good picture of one.

The yellow danger stripes are great. What about doing them all across the front where the red section is.

Hope that helps.

11-02-2009, 13:41
thanks for the reply shaw!. I will most defenitly add some plates on to it, thanks :)

and yeah lepp I might trim down some of the spikes abit :) thanks again!

11-02-2009, 14:10
Muffe great looking orks, the bright skin is awesome. Any chance of giving us a rundown on how you do it?

11-02-2009, 15:58
thanks! and sure :)

The skinn was painted by first spraying the model black

Then first layer is a mix of goblin green/orkhide shade 50/50 ish mix

Then layer on pure goblin green.
Then give it a wash of dark green.
Next is to start highlighting with a mix of goblin green and scorpion green

Last is a highlight with pure Scorpion green. on the Nobs I take it one step further and mix in abit of yellow to the green just at the edges of the face and some muscles and such.
