Since Bretonnia will not be getting a redux for at least a year I thought I would write my own redux and playtest it for gaming outside of tournaments, just to give some more variety in the list.

The first part that I have completed if the army list Characters, Core and Special section. When I complete other segments they will be posted but in the mean time here is the start. Rule changes will be included after the list is done, eg- Questing Vow will allow +2 str Great Weapons. Also Magic items, Virtues and Powers will be done in time.

Not having the book to hand or the time to go through all the individual entries can you give a run down of exactly what your changing and why?
I can see the new units and a few option changes but its much more useful to have that in a paragraph or two at the top with the synopsis of whats happening than just a big page of stats.

Cheers

Just finished the army list section (added in). Next is the special rules and the virtues/magic items/Sacred Powers.

As a Bretonnian Player I'm not entierly happy with this list.
First of all, Peasant Heroes? Doesn't really fit.
Why do the Knights Errant not have heavy armour, but still have barding? Historically barding was the most expensive equipment so logically Barding should be left out. Not much of a problem really but it does bug me.

Then we have both squires and Rangers? And why do rangers have WS 4? Its just points for a stat which is of no use to them. Both units are very simmilar to each other and fill the same niche. Also, since Squires are core it is highly likely that they will out value ordinary bowmen, appart from the requirement.

Peasant levy? The role is filled with M@A anyway. There is no need to add in another unit. It's either redundent, or will completely invalidate M@A. They fill a role that is already filled.

The Foot Knights are good but I feel that the Keep, Guard, while interesting, you need to make sure that they are worth their points.

Also the M@A and foot knights command costs too much.

Its true that the Bretonnian list needed foot knights and some proper scouts/skirmishers and I have always advocated this, but don't add units in just for the sake of adding them. You need to make sure that they are logical, fit with the playstyle and are useful to the army as a whole.
