Search on the GW website under Specialist Games, then Specialist Games resources.

THere's links there for downloading pdfs of the rulebooks...

thanks man

The website does not have the back end of the rulebook, which covers the battlefield, scenarios, sieges and ships. Does anyone know why? Does anyone have a pdf of this section?

I could understand that maybe the ships etc. are not used, but the battlefield section is very important.

None of these items have ever been included in the online version.
GW never released them in PDF.
They were requested just before the old SG site went kapput, but we never received any feedback on the subject.

Only legal source I know of is a cheap copy of the rules off of eBay.

Thanks for the information.

Does anyone know the rules for deployment and terrain placement? These seemed to be the key missing part. They are only 2 pages, pages 78 and 79. Without those I cannot really play properly...

I have the same problem. I guess that they just made a mistake. But I am afraid that we cannot hope for any update with current level of support fo Specialist Games.

I have another "greenhorn" question: I am just starting empire army (I bought my first blisters just today). I am wondering if I can put my heroes on round bases like this one

http://2md.dk/gw-warmaster/images/armies/empire/davids_gubbinz/My_Wizard.jpg

They look much better than on the regular bases IMHO.

Do you have any idea what use for round bases and how bog they should be?

Thanks.

Oddly, those items are available on download on the french GW website, in french (you'll have to download all the rules, but it is in one part, without missing pages). I don't know for other languages. It might be a good idea to try different countries' websites, if you can read / decrypt another tongue.

As for the characters, I remember being it said somewhere in the rulebook, but I can't reckon. You can definitively put them on round bases though.

Round bases for heroes/wizards/generals is the norm.
I use UK 2 pence pieces as these are cheaper than actual bases (just don't deface the Queen's image ;))
They measure 1 inch diameter the same as described in the rule book.
If I need to place a general on a larger base it is sometimes useful to add a 2p or similar to determine their command circle.

Thank you Azraelezekiel.

Now I just have to find the British 2P in Texas somehow - I guess it's easier to leave it until I get back to Europe :)

DasKhorne, I have just bought the Warmaster rule book on ebay. You can find it for very reasonable price.

I thing it's worth it because of the pictures etc. I always prefer real book than a plain copy or pdf file.

Just as another new player how many playable races are there in warmaster at the moment. I ve seen the ones in the down loadable content but I remember seeing plans for a dogs or war and Araby army years ago.

The araby rules are in the downloadable rules from GW.
There are currently 14 official armies these are:
Empire, Tomb Kings, Chaos, Orc & Goblins, High Elf, Dwarf, Skaven, Lizardmen, Bretonnia, Kislev(models no longer available from GW), Dark Elf, Vampire Counts, Daemon and Araby.

There is also a fan supplement in the workings with 21 new/rereleased/ALT army lists.
This will hopefully see the light of day in the 2nd/3rd quarter of this year.
The lists included at the present time are :

Dogs of War (No regiments of renown)
Ogre Kingdoms
Albion
Goblin (ALT orc)
Witch Hunters (ALT Empire)
High Elf Tournament
Daemon Tournament

Wood Elf
Beastmen
Chaos Dwarf
Slayer King's Army (ALT Dwarf)
Norse
Brettonian (ALT Bretonnian)
Cathay
Nippon

Nomadic Orcs (ALT Orcs)
Grimgor 'Ardboyz (ALT Orcs)
Dwarf Younger Holds (ALT Dwarves)
Dwarf Engineering Guild (ALT Dwarves)
Araby Tribal (ALT Araby)
Araby City-State (ALT Araby)

Please note there are NO plans for any new miniatures from GW for WM as far as I can make out.
Although BOTFA box sets are very useful for some of these armies and Eureka minis make some really nice models to enable the creation of some of the others.
Hope this helps.

Okay Azraelezekiel, you've caught my attention; can you give us an idea of what the idea behind the High Elf and Daemon Tournament lists are?

Also, will the supplement include a range of new spells for each new race?

Finally, I'm sure you guys have it covered, but if you want some photos of warmaster mini's in action for flavour (and don't already have enough) I'd be happy to do some snaps for use in the supplement.

Well!
Some people within the community/playtest group think that High Elves and Daemons are over-powered (not me I hasten to add) and so they have produced nerfed lists for tournament play :wtf:.
Personally I don't think it is necessary but there you go.
The few tournaments I have played in show that good generalship and dice rolling far outweigh a 3+ shooting, magic reroll, high command based army any day ;).

Anyone interested in a sneak peek PM me.

Very interesting lists.

make a new army of a no official list is always a challenge, to seek and convert figures and units. I do not have any figure of eureka, but the pics looks awsome. Are there so superweb sculpted?

I do not have figures from kallistra but I have read somewhere they are biggers (about 12mm). Is this true?
It is wierd to me because i thought kallistra use pendraken fantasy range mount in strips.

There seems to be a lot of lists there, hard to imagine you could make so many armies unique and balanced. I like seeing Ogre Kingdoms and Chaos Dwarfs as those are the 2 armies really missing, but I don't see how Wood Elves or Beastmen are suppose to work in Warmaster. Neither of those army types have legions, only small armies and bands. Wood elves keep to their woodland realm and don't take the field in mass numbers. Beastmen only come in small herds and hide in the woods unless they latch onto a chaos war march. I think that’s why those two armies were left out in the first place; Ogres being because they weren’t even in Warhammer yet.

Norse, Cathay, And Nippon are things that GW themselves have not done anything with at all and barely any fluff either. I don’t know if I’d want to see an opponent with those kinds of armies, by the time GW does something with those your miniatures might wind up looking like something completely wrong, as well as play completely differently from the way they wind up in Warhammer.

I won’t question the change of the tournament rules for a couple armies if that’s how the majority honestly feel needs to be done to balance things, but the sheer amount of alt lists are going away over board, it makes me think every writer of this new rules is trying to get his one custom thing in more then trying to balance rules out.

I kind of wish GW would just release an updated print of the book that had all the update supplements embedded in the text and the latest army list / special rules in the army section. I’m sure a lot of vets would gladly fork up some cash rather then having to refer to a dated book and 4 different pdfs.
