Hello there!

Just wanting to hear how we all get to the local store/club etc from the members of Warseer.

I myself: I travel by Bus and sometimes by my parents' cars. Not a long journey really.

Thanks for taking interest.

I Bus.

Then walk the rest of the way, sadly the bus does not stop exactly at my side of the gaming table :(.

I cycle with two large and one small carry case. Last week I also had a carrier bag full of titan. Not easy.

I drive.
usually with a carload of people.
We have a rule, the person who drives doesn't pay entry into the games club.

I catch a bus to nearest store with enough room to swing a cat (local GW doesn't qualify unless cat wants a concussion), or a train to another club (1 hour trip each way), or I get dropped off at my club when we're in the area (in-laws suburb) by car.

20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive, depending on what army I take. My DeathGuard fits in a backpack, m y IG or Dark Eldar don't. ;)

Local club is 5 minutes drive through town on a good day. Just beside the local cinema too!

it's 15 kilometers to the nearest store carrying GW products so the fastest and cheapest way for me is the bus.

If I'm playing my regular opponent I just roll out of bed, go downstairs, make some coffee, and I'm there.

If not - car.

lol!

I drive, there are two here in Bristol, the one in the city centre is closest however the cost of public transport (almost 4.00 for a return) or the parking (About 2.00 per hour) puts me off. It's cheaper and less hassle to drive to Cribbs Causeway, the store maybe the size of a shoe box but the staff are great and it's free parking.

Also every time I get on the bus I always end up sitting next to a mad old woman who smells of wee and keeps trying to lick my face

Having had a Peugeot as a work car I'd prefer a drop pod.

I take the train 30min journey, but to make myself feel better I burn a barrel of petrol in my back garden when I get home.

Yep, people walked before cars and trains. People also rarely needed to leave their village though...

Drive 15min to the nearest indy dealer. An official store is an hr away outside Philadelphia. I'm sure there are some in New York City too, but no sane person drives there unless they are a resident. Otherwise, it'll be a few hours to walk to the local store...

:chrome: Hehe, quite amusing that! So sig it be!

EDIT- I also apologise for the rather bland title. I was doing a search and I kinda forgot to change it back again. It should have been: Travelling to The Hobby Store.

40 to 45 minutes drive with car, and that's only for the nearest independant store. The only GW shop here in Belgium is in Antwerp and thats about 150km from my place !
My gaming group is as large as 3 persons in my area (about 15km). So if anybody is near the area of As, Opglabbeek, Genk, Dilsen, Opoeteren or Maasmechelen please tell me (pm or mail)

25 - 30 minutes by car.
Back in my youth, before I moved to the U.S. I did the bus, dropped off by parents thing in the U.K.

I've got to say it is so much easier with your own car!

20- 30 mins back home walking depending on how rushed I am. 10 by bike on the way, 1 hr on the way back but thats coz I usually stop and have a chat with my mate. Strangely it takes over 15 mins by car!

If I'm playing at mates it can take anywhere between 10 mins walking (up the road) to 40 driving (middle of nowhere).

At uni its about a 5- 10 min walk from my flats.

So I've got it pretty well off to be honest. I'm just glad I only seem to go to rural places that have established gaming communities.

For the regular gaming club, it's a five minutes ride on the bike or a 10-12 minutes walk. The independent retailer is about 30 minutes away by tram. GW Store (where I don't play, as there's a) no gaming tables unless you're a beginner or a kid, and b) models tend to be picked up by kids) is 20 minutes away by tram.

Usually takes who ever is dropping me off 8 minutes to get down there, then 15-20 minutes to walk home at the end of the night.

The closest store with playing space is a 30 minutes drive from my place and since it's located dead center in the middle of the city there is no free parking anywhere near it. I prefer to drive and play at a friend's place.

I usually amble, but depending on the circumstances I may stroll, meander or even trudge. The store's about a mile and a half away, so it's only about a 40 minute walk. Often I have to go to that area anyway because my bank is right across the street.

15 minute walk to station, 20 minute train ride, 5 minute walk to GW.

And vice versa for the home journey...
