Total Army Cost: 2298

Restrictions:
- Max 12 PD, every item/gift/whatever that makes casting spells easier counts as a die (in this case MoT on exlated sorc)
- Max 12 DD, any item that makes dispelling easier substract one die form the pool; first DS=one die, every next count as 2
- No more than 3 core unit of the same type unless ranked infantry without ranged weapons
- No more than 2 special of the same type unless no rare at all
- Rare may not be doubled unless no special is doubled

Tactics is fairly simple: tzeentch sorc flies and casts gateway&mmissle, nurgle ones try to kill of enemy characters with no 1 spell (they sit in chosen/marauders for protection). Knights are here to kill things in CC and hellcannon provides some ranged support. Horsemen and hounds screen and go warmachine-hunting.

I believe it would be better to swap both chosen for 2 units of 10 maruders (LA, shields, muso), freeing lot of points as well. But what should i do with them then?

Will this list fare well in tournaments?

I'm not a huge fan of Chosen, you could get another Hellcannon instead or a fighty Exalted General. If you take any, I like the Rapturous Standard, great weapons, shields, and the Helm of Many Eyes for the unit champion. Hits like a freight train, resilient, nigh unbreakable, and the champion provides a little surprise.

If your Sorc Lord wants to get Gateway, I'd recommend a Spell Familiar just for some added insurance.

Sorcs could use some protection, barded steeds would give them 2+ armor and added mobility.

Ups... The exalted sorc has the spell familiar :) I cant get another hellcannon due to restrictions and im not a fan of chosen either (but i love warriors minis:D). The set-up your suggesting is too expensive for my liking and i will most probably take marauders instead, but the question is what to do with spare points? Theres usually at least one building on the table so im not taking steeds for sorcerers so that they could hide in there.

Tactics are the same, im going to cast 3x nurgle no.1 (2 die each) and then gateway (5 die, hoping for IF). Is it better than the previous list? Or maybe im heading in a wrong direction...?

Spell Familiar, duh, how did I miss that? XD

I like the 2nd list, I'd suggest putting the Marauders together in a unit of 20-25 to get that SCR going. Other than that, musicians for the Knights and maybe a Spawn.

I dont think the musicians on knights are necessary - maybe if i had some spare points... The reason why marauders are split into 3 units of 10 is that they are here only to provide a cheap 'look out sir' to every sorcerer, i dont want them in combat.

Well, recently my gaming group plays 2300 and all local tournaments are 2300 pts :D

But this list can be tailored quite easily to 2250 - just swap one unit of marauder horsemen for hounds and the other 2 units of horsemen get LA.

I suppose the second list is indeed better, i included chosen in the first list just because i like the models. Have you got any other advice?
