I love your BB, everything looks good, how do you do your rivets, they look domed and not just tubes cut and glued, glue dots maybe?
The Shadowsword looks OK, looks like the barrel is so long it is staring to bend under its own weight!

Wow 97 views and not one person put the effort in to comment . . .

Bugbait out

Must be the glue that makes them look domed, they are realy just cut rod !
The Barrel is strait, the Camera lies:D
Thanks for your reply !

That Baneblade is one of the best scratchbuilt vehicles I've ever seen.

Keep up the good work.

As i said earlier im having a problem with the Commanders Hatch.
Im thinking of mounting the Hatch in a upsidedown slotabase with visionblocks facing down.
How does that sound to you ?

I really like the simplicity of your treads. How did you do the wheels? are they from scratch or a kit? I might have to borrow your tread style if mine doesn't work out. Great work!

Lionsbane
24-12-2008, 03:43
Both are excellent work!

SDKFZ
24-12-2008, 09:58
@cant_deside: The wheels are from a cheep M1 kit exept the ones in front that i had lying around, i think they are from a T-80.
I then widend them with plastic tubing in the right diameter.
Please feel free to use my track design, ill be werry happy !

I think that Tinners has got some competition to be the plasticard king of warseer!
great work again. not too sure on the black box next to the barrel on the baneblade though.

24-12-2008, 15:14
Most impressive. What thickness of plasticard do you use for scratchbuilding tanks? I got myself some sheets of 1mm thickness but I'm afraid that's way too thick.

SDKFZ
25-12-2008, 11:36
I use from 0.3 to 2mm tickness on my models.
But it is mostly 1mm !!!!
This baneblade is mostly 1mm with adons in the other sizes.

Im verry flatterd at beincompared with Tinnes, THANKS !!

Ill be back ( with Austrian accent )

I'm not impressed by the amount of detail on your works - I can do that myself. I do however am very impressed by how exact you do everything. Might be tha fact I'm only used to Orks and some bits of Chaos, but all those perfectly done sharp thingies make my heart bleed, because it makes everything I do look like crap. Grats, you have skills. :)

Wow, just wow. I'm in love with your stormlord, and that old skool shadowsword brings a tear of nostalgia to my eye.

If only I had the patience and steady hand to do all that fiddly plasticard scratchbuilding :(

If that is your speed building then I am just going to have to fall on my hobby knife. Awesome work, I too scratchbuilt a baneblade from the white dwarf plans once only I was too young and didnt really consider adding any further details to the basic shape. This thread has got me thinking though, I might even do it again one day...

Good Grief, your plastic card detailing is unbelievable. Can we have some really close up shots of how you do the hinges on the flat hatches? Pretty please? That is an area I really battle with. Actually a whole plastic card tutorial would be amazing!

SDKFZ
15-02-2009, 19:17
@ Thoughfoxx: It is just a stripp of plastic rod between "rivets" of sliced rod.

Hope it helped .

Thanks! I will give it a go - just not on my current Plastic card project - a Necron aerospace fighter - not too many hatches on that.. :)

SDKFZ you deserve an award in scratchbuilding. Seeing that Stormlord I thought it was a Forgeworld resin variant, but wait, Forgeworld don't produce Stormlord variant???

Hi, can i just ask how you painted the tank like that, appears to be sprayed one colour mainly, the fleshy peach sandy colour and then washed, is this right or is it some other method. Either way its really good, both in terms of painting skill and the really good scratchbuild skills too.

SDKFZ
28-04-2010, 19:46
@ fiore hellheart : Sure you can ! Its airbrushed Tamyia desert-yellow, then i inked all rivets and places where plates meet. Then i drybrushed it with desert-yellow and finaly with bleached-bone.
There you are, hope that helped, and thanks btw !
