I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but...
Cause blood knights are vampires, and all vampires are level 1 wizards. Can they just keep casting Invocation of Nehek on themselves everyturn and basically each get a 4+ chance of adding an extra knight to the unit? (which then next turn they can do the same, and so on)

I've read through the rules, and can't see anything that says you CAN'T do this... Just seems... Wrong

they arent level 1 wizards, only hero vampires are.

I can see something. The fact that there is no rule saying "all vampires are level 1 wizards."
This is rules lawyering and nitpicking at its worst.

Where does it say hero vampires? I must double check that (I'm am NOT a vamp counts player so I frikkin' hope so!)
I just says they are vampires, and the vampires rule says vampires are level 1 wizards(also similar situation with the Vargulf who is also a "vampire").

On page 35 of the VC Army book it says Vampire characters are wizards.

Also, you could only raise a unit above starting strength if you have the appropriate bloodline power (or the unit is zombies) - there isn't one for Blood Knights.

This isn't rules lawyering, it is just misunderstanding the rules.

Rules lawyering is using the existing rules to legitimately conjure a beneficial new rule, that wasn't neccesarily written into the game intentionally.

Rules lawyering is what bullies call playing by rules that they don't want to play by.
