Right I donít know if this has been done before so if it has Iíll delete or change the question/thread.

Iím looking to compile a strategy guide on dealing with the uber units/characters that each race invariably has.

To start copy the following into your reply and list a unit combo or character combo that crops up and causes you all sorts of problems.

Your Race :
Beasts of Chaos :
Bretonnia :
Daemons of Chaos :
Dark Elves :
Dwarfs :
Empire :
High Elves :
Lizardmen :
Ogre Kingdoms :
Orcs & Goblins :
Skaven :
Tomb Kings :
Vampire Counts :
Warriors of Chaos :
Wood Elves :

Tactics for dealing with the units or characters which crop up the most for each race will be discussed later.

Cheers for your time!

I'll Start

spawn: anything with a decent str in combat or shooting deals with them quickly
Knights errant: Baiting them (use impetuous to your advantage), wide flank, Lore of metal, beast cowers
Black guard, any shooting, units with decent armor saves that thier weak str 4 attacks wont cut it against, chariots
Slayers: high volume of attacks or shooting, posion works good.
STank: lore of metal, cannons str6+ atks, etheral creatures etc
Swordmasters: any shooting attack, or magic spell, chariots.
Salamanders: magic missles, decent cc units, etheral units
Gorgers: tougher call, characters and shooting seem obe only viable ways
SKaven wpn teams: anything that can dish out a single str 3 hit at range, these are really weak actually for 60+ pts each, a single wind of undeath for example can do a huge number on any wpn teams, of even a lone fire ball.
Casket: charge if with warmachine hunters and kill the 6+ save guard, or simply dispel it.
Dryads: anything magical.

Beasts of Chaos vs any infantry uber unit (grave guard bunker or plaguebearer bunker):

Outmanoeuvre and avoid unit with everything (maybe sacrifice a few hounds), then claim victory points for a draw or minor victory with other units.

Your Race : Dark elves, the master race of course :P
Beasts of Chaos : To be perfectly honest....nothing in the list at all.
Bretonnia : Character heavy uber units, randomisation mainly.
Daemons of Chaos : Bloodthirster
Dark Elves : Hydra
Dwarfs : erm....
Empire : lots of handguns, mortars
High Elves : star dragon
Lizardmen : JsoD
Ogre Kingdoms : nothing again...nothing in that list is difficult to deal with (that was with the old DE list!)
Orcs & Goblins : Fanatics, killing them all is just annoying
Skaven : Warplightning cannon
Tomb Kings : Skull catapult
Vampire Counts : Vampire lords...habit of being the last thing to die.
Warriors of Chaos : dunno yet....probs chaos knights
Wood Elves : Treekin and Treemen

Your Race : Orcs and Goblins

Dwarfs : 30 hammerers with a King
Vampire Counts : 6 Blood Knights or 25 Grave Guard
Warriors of Chaos : Big blocks of Chosen

As the careful reader will observe, there's very few things that I don't think I have answers for... And, for those, I just try to limit their offensive potential, as Decker suggests, by giving them limited target-opportunity.
