Hi there. I've never run a campaign before, but I was enthused at the idea, so I'm running one for a few of us at my local gaming club. I've got a few scenario ideas.

Now, this is where I need the good people of warseer to help me...what kind of forms do you reckon a good campaign should take? I don't really fancy mighty empires, so something in the way of a league seems in order, with league points dependant on victories. That's just too dull, though. Anyone have an interesting varient system? :angel:

Take a look at the "real" Mighty Empires. First edition.

I'm running a campaign with a variant of the original rules, which are far superior to the recent re-release. It can be price however as basically Ebay is your market for it.

I've sold a full set for $300US before, and it was used. Haven't checked ina while though as I'm all out of extra sets to sell...

Things players do want in campaigns:

- Narratives to their battles
- Meaningful results from their battles
- Objectives worth fighting over
- Meaningful decisions to make in the strategic sense

Things players do not want in campaigns:

- Book-keeping
- Tight schedules
- Compulsory attendance


I've found that maps are very popular.
