Had a look at the FAQ for the new edition and wow they sure did leave out a lot of stuff. And the conversational tone of it is kinda weird, my favorite 'which I think makes for rather cool models' its in reference to a relic blade storm shield issue.

I find the whole thing a little condescending or maybe its just me.

Haha, hellfire bolts are weaker than being punched by a grot!

That doesn't make sense on so many levels... why would removing the explosive charge of a bolt round make it so weak? It's still a giant rocket-propelled shell...

The Ork codex FAQ is in the same vein. It works for the Orks, but SM players generally have more gravitas built into their psyche.

I think I am more suprised by the reaction its getting. Did you guys forget who makes 40k? Did you forget you were playing 40k?

Are you all new players?

This is the norm, best get used to it.

Hellfire shells fire a collection of miniature needles filled with toxins. It could be that the way they are delivered just does not pack much pysical punch.

We have a discussion thread on the Marine FAQ in 40K rules.

To avoid duplicate discussion this thread is now closed.
