So what is a deathstar? A big all eggs in one basket-unit with protection against everything and enough hittyness to smash its way trough pretty much anything, I think. Regeneration will be this unit's hard to beat target, as will ethereals be, but lizzies don't have too many magical attacks from regiments anyway, so it is not too much different from say, a shadestar.
So here's what I came up with, it could use some finer tuning and all that, but lets just say it is the idea that counts here...
Herot:
Oldblood: lightarmour, venom of firefly frog, war-drum of xahutec, shield of mirrored pool, glyph necklace, Carnosaur
Saurus Scar-veteran: BSB, light armour, shield, Cold-one, Sun standard of Chotec
Skink Priest: dispel scroll, Ancient Stegadon, Engine of the Gods
Skink Chief: war-spear, light armour, shield, Ancient Stegadon

Coret
10 skink skirmishers
10 skink cohorts
10 skink cohorts

Spesiaalit:
9 Cold One Riders: Full command, Huanchi's Blessed Totem
=2000
So it has protection against missiles, it will ignore march-blockers and charges faster the first time, does a million impact/high str hits and causes terror. "Character-ridden monsters and unit"-rules will be used, that's why the deathstar unit is riders, they can keep up with the monsters. EOTG will generate ward saves, and oldblood will bounce those magic missiles back too. Skink chief was a given, and BSB is usefull too. ASF or regen would have been nice... :cheese::cool:

When you see everyone posting this kind of lists whenever a new armybook is released, you understand 7th edition is screwed. This is not Warhammer.

I suppose cross-firing Great cannons and slamming a Steam Tank in their face would be my ballanced countermeasure. Maybe it won't work, but at least I play with an army.

My main opponent is a Daemon player, I full support cheese lists with the new dex vs daemons.

PS. First time playing the new Lizards today, Chakax, a Slann and 16 Temple guard got butchered by a unit of 20 blood letters and a Herald.

Fighting cheese with cheese only bring an arms race which could(and do) escalate unto lame and boring games IMHO

Then don't play and just model. These are the rules deemed legit by GW. Deal with the meta game. Complaining about a players list in the army list section instead of helping is just a waste of space.

As for the actual list, I don't really see anything that cheesy. Low troops will bite you against some armies but your should have enough terror to keep large numbers of low ld troops in check.

I think the old-blood screams to have the Scimitar of the sun. +2 attacks is just too good to pass up.

I would try to make all your skinks skirmishers if you can. Besides the theme, the cohorts won't keep up with your relatively fast moving list and be in a position to screen or help. At least skirmishers you know will be fine by themselves on the flanks.

I could see a couple of well placed cannon shots ripping this army up. A gun line which focused fired would take down one of the monsters easy enough and since all but your cav are large target the skinks wont block LOS.

For the most part I agree with Innerwolf. This seems more 40K style than fantasy with the herohammer theme.

This army would also have a large problem with enemy magic since it only produces 3 dispel dice plus a dispel scroll.

Nope Carny lost its large target rule :(

I have begun to think this as more like an aircraft carrier than deathstar lately. It works so much better if at some stage the fighter jets are launched from the carrier to do their work..

I did not say this was perfect, and certainly have no wishes to ever test it, I wrote the list more to test if it could be done and how it would go "on paper", and to give some food for thought for the community. Think of it as trolling or being stupid, your pick.

I had fun imagining the sight of this unit on the field though, how awesome would it really be? Kind of 3 land raiders in a row in normal 40k game...
This army could be won by HE magic battery supported by 4 great eagles, or maybe just the eagles.
