Alright,

As the title says, Which are better for parent units, Swordsmen, or Halbierds with no shileds to save points? I am not sure and I do not want to waste money!

Thanks in advance,

IMO swordsmen...by saving points on the no shield halberdiers you are arguably wasting the points you have spent on the unit in the first place.

Meaning they will most likely die very quickly.

Swordsmen will actually be able to achieve wins in combat.

A unit of 24 swords men with a frontage or four are the best buy in an empire infantry army (apart from mabey a unit of great swords with a count) The 5 static combat res combined with the ws4 4+ save make the unit a tough nut to crack to the front especially with a detachment on the flank of the attacker.
