Hi
I have been playing lately with this Dark Elf Army 2250pts
and would like comment on it for improvments or thoughts in general.

The idea is to use the Lord on Dragon with the Dark riders on one flank together with the centre the BsB in the first warrior unit supported with a war hydra and the assassin in the second warrior unit supported also with a war hydra. Both warrior units with full command and 3 ranks.
On the move forward use breath (x3) and shooting (27x2) 22 with Bs5 and then hit the enemy strong in melee.

Use the shades to harass small fragile units or characters.
Use Harpies and Shades for misdirect and prevent marching and prevent charge for the enemy.

Use The ring of Hotek along with the sorceress 3 dispel and 2 dispel scroll to negate most of the enemy magic.
The sorceress can use her 3 power dice to cast her one spell since she uses dark magic.

Added a harpy unit after Thargur comment in other Dark Elf army thread

That is a lot of shades... you'll probably run out of places to put them.

I would put that assassin in the same unit as the BSB so you can protect it, and don't join the caddie to a unit. Just leave it out of line of sight some where.

Thanks for your input :-)

All views are good to listen too.

Regarding the shades I havent found that a problem since they are very small and skirmisher and can shoot through own unit.
I could have 3 units instead I reckon but not sure that would be better.

I am not that bothered protecting the BSB I rather have two units with some punch.
I use a Warrior unit+ Character together with a Hydra per combat.
In having the assassin and BSB separated I get two hard hitting fists instead of 1 very hard fist and 1 soft punch.
Having all egg in one basket is sometimes better tho but I can if need be relocate the assassin or BSB to the other warrior unit.

As for the sorceror I keep her with one of the shades unit to prevent targeting her early she can easily leave if that shade unit is in a dire position or are to be used a s misdirect or block.

I am considering to get a Harpy unit also.

Decided to get the Harpy unit after Thargur comment after all it has several good purposes

Made another army as well the magic/bolt army that I find more friendly than this.
However I greatly take any thoughts or suggestions on how to improve either of them.

Thanks

Any army.. with a Dragon.. and two hydras is going to be 'very' strong... You may find the desire to change this after a few games (As I have done...)

Yes fully agree you but with this army I am trying to make it as hard I can get since i fight with a friend with High elfs that try doing the same.

I have made another army the magic/boltline that just have 1 hydra and are i think at least more friendly than this one.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to ímprove this army?
Really thankfull for all ideas and suggestions as well as inputs.

Thanks
