Since becoming a member of Warseer a while back, and subsequently Wargamerau, it has come to my attention that there are a number of fundamental differences in the majority opinions between forums regarding rules interpretation.

Not a bad thing, of course, but just something interesting to note.

The most obvious example of this would have to be Gate of Infinity. As far as general consensus on Warseer seems to be concerned, this is a power that cannot be used to leave close combat. However, Wargamerau takes the opposite position.

Not being a member of other forums such as Librarian and Tau Online, etc, I am curious to know whether such differences of opinion exist between all forums, or whether forums with the same members tend to swing the same way with their rules interpretation.

Anybody else seen anything like this?

All the time. Don't let it bother you. There are a lot of reasons for this, but much of it is due to how tournament oriented the loudest posters are. If the site has many people playing an army that will benefit from one interpretation of the rule then expect a bit of bias. Every site has a list of banned people who try too hard to brow beat everyone into playing their way.

Post your opinion in a civil manner and move on. The important thing is to have a local set of house rules or just dice for it when something comes up.
