Anyone know what the conditions are, or what the minimum order amount is, for the 15% discount that GW Online offers? This is part of the order I just completed:

Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard
Part Code: 99229999065
Price: 146.80
Discounted price: 127.65

I'd like to know what I have to spend to make that range.

is this GWOnline (Crippler's shop),. or GW's own online store we're talking here?

Isn't that simply the pre-VAT and post-VAT prices?

No - the original price quoted was 146.80 - not a normal price... ;)

No, 146.80 is the normal price after GW passed on the government's "one year only" VAT cut of 2.5%... a lot of the UK's retail prices have started looking a bit funky, since it messes with all their neat profit calculations based on the previous rate of 17.5%.

My guess is that the discounted price refers to the cost that it is sold to overseas buyers, who pay local sales tax on it instead of 15% VAT (or nothing at all if they live in one of those lucky low-tax nations).

Astro is in Switzerland, therefore that's the price they're selling it to him at. The sales tax will be charged at the swiss rate of 7.6% instead.

It's definitely not the trade account rate anyway, that's a lot more than 15%.

dunno the whys and wherefores, all I know is that stuff costs me at GW online (yes, crube, the official GW shop) the same as Maelstrom, or actually slightly less. Not to mention that because of the pound atm, it's ridiculous to even compare with Swiss prices now. I think a Stompa at maelstrom or GW post-discount costs HALF of what I pay for it here.

IF it's being exported out of the EU then I believe that the VAT is not charged, hence 15% off. If you're getting the tax off through GW, you should be able to claim it back if you order from Maelstrom or other online retailer.

SO potentially, about 15% off, then claim the tax back of another 15% :D

Astro will not be made to pay the 7.6% by GW.

That is up to customs...sometimes you are lucky most times you aernt :)

This is why I'm often very happy to order from GW direct. The VAT saving and the low pound means that I'm getting pretty good deals a lot of the time.

wait, we get discount, from GW, :wtf:

Has anyone been able to clarify this 100% or is it just the VAT cut as others have suggested?

I'm pretty sure it's just the store not charging VAT to customers outside the EU. Not really a discount as all.

There is a VAT cut for UK customers (so the battle board at 150.00 is actually 146.80). That is the price for UK customers.

In addition, customers outside the EU will get the VAT deducted too, so a further 15% off.

If you extend this to 'other' online retailers, then depending on how they operate, if you are outside the EU, then you could get

BattleBoard 150
less VAT reduction 146.80
less 15% off for being an online retailer -127
less 15% for not charging VAT = 109 ish?
