Been to Warhammer World last week and saw this list of UK Golden Demon winner on the board. For year 1994, the entry is blank. What happened to 1994? No winner?

It was Neil R. Thomason.

No idea why the WHW list should have left 1994 blank.

You should think about getting the GW book "Fantasy Minatures" if you can find it (released in 2002), it contains most of the Golden Deamons Winners along with the 2nd 3rd and other notable entries, its an ace book.

Does anyone else have it, I dont think I have ever seen it mentioned anywhere

I have it. Great book for old skool fans and lovers of citadel minis in general.

I love that website too. Spent a lot of time there.

I think you'll find the demonwinner site is wrong there. Neil didn't win his slayer sword until 1996. The reason there is no overall winner listed for 1994 is because there wasn't one. After 1993 they decided not to give out slayer swords anymore. Not totally sure of the reason but it may have been because the level of competition was getting rather low at the time. They started giving out the sword again in 1995 so, whatever the reason was, they obviously changed their mind.

It's a shame then if the site is correct. Neil could have wielding Slayer Sword in each hand now... I saw a Slayer Sword at Warhammer World (and took a photo with it since I couldn't bring it home). That could be 1994's... haha :D

Gosh I am so out of touch, I didn't know such a thing existed. Nice to see some of my old stuff again.

What a great website, I miss those vibrant old colour schemes. Though i was slightly pissed to see that the warp spiders I just bought are the same models as of at least 15 years ago...

I think some of the metal warlocks are older still!

What about the O and G players with their plastic wolves and boars!

edit... Adrian Winks warboss on boar was the first model that really pushed me from 40k towards WH.

Some great classic GD winners in there. Asurmen from 1995 and the gorkamorka battle scene... was Gorkamorka really 10 years ago? Im feeling old :(

I feel your pain. It's bad enough when the kids in the shop don't know what you're talking about because it's over 10 years old. Worse when it's a staff member.

Anyway, back on subject. What about those entries from the 80's? Loving some of the vehicle conversions and those old marine models kicking back on that mega rhino conversion. I don't know, maybe my specs are rose tinted, but some of those old things seem much more characterful.

No. It came out in 1997, so it's twelve years ago...

The rumours I heard where that the sword was sold and the name was struck from the wall and the winner banned.

Just what I heard ;).
