Well i saw this video on the website and i thought i might as well post it

I cant stop laughing about how cheesey the video is and where did the singing monks come from?

13-12-2005, 01:38
I liked it and I don't think its that cheesy.

13-12-2005, 01:39
it probably some Gregorian Chanting, its not that bad (except it has BT in it)

13-12-2005, 01:43
What army do you think this campaign will feature?

13-12-2005, 01:45
i know it's BT, but i hate them, other than that i believe its the armies you see in the trailer (with some sort of Chaos Farseer orchastrating things)

13-12-2005, 01:47
I was being sarcastic. They might as well put up a neon sign with flashing lights screaming "Black Templars are teh W007!!!1!"

13-12-2005, 01:48
O comon its cheesy

its not even an animation theve just takin models and phtoshoped them

i theink the armys itll feature is eldar, orks, BT (obviously) and nids from what you can see in the "video"

I liked the music.

I like it. Quite frankly, I've never really been able to think of Space Marines and actual chanting of that sort in the same "thought bubble" before, because it just works out so silly in my mind. Forcing my hand like that almost makes me want to pick up my Space Marine army again....*slaps left hand* Bad lefty! Back to painting Tau....

13-12-2005, 02:13
it was cheesy, how big will this campaign be any ideas?

13-12-2005, 02:26
well it's limited to Canada so I guess it won't be massive

13-12-2005, 02:39
I've had grilled cheese sandwiches that had less cheese than that flash animation. :p I though I saw a necron lord in there too. So I guess it's BTs vs the rest of the universe. :D

13-12-2005, 02:40
are you kidding me, its like photoshop meets flash, how disapointing, if they insist on thse videos they should of used the DOW engine it has almost hte same stuff.

13-12-2005, 02:56
I liked it, thank's for the heads up.

Nid Farseer?

13-12-2005, 04:02
meh, I liked it- what was cheesy, it's a frikkin online campaign, not a feature film.. plus it had Necrons in it

13-12-2005, 04:03
Nid Farseer?
more likely a corrupted Farseer

13-12-2005, 04:21
why does that first templer marine have buck teeth? is it a conversion?

13-12-2005, 04:52
Meh...I dunno. I don't mind seeing some nicely painted minis any day, and there certainly are some included in that "video". It would certainly be cool to have some actual movies, however. But come on....it's GW Canada, and they obviously have limited resources and such. At least they're putting something on....I mean, yeah...it' something:)
Whatever...I mean, we all like models, right? Or we wouldn't likely be here? An animated short would be really, really cool but...come on.

13-12-2005, 09:32
where the hell is that music FROM? Not the chant, the orchestral piece after? It's killing me, I KNOW I recognize it from somewhere. I wanna say Baldur's Gate, but I'm not sure that's right

13-12-2005, 09:37
I can't view it at college! Argh.

Now I can't wait to get home and embrace the cheesey goodness

Is that Eldar model at the end something new? It flashed so quickly that I couldn't tell if it was a conversion.

The music is from Dawn of War.

I liked the chanting at the beginning. The rest was a big slice of 'meh'

gotta love the orbital bombardment

Is that Eldar model at the end something new? It flashed so quickly that I couldn't tell if it was a conversion.

it is indeed a conversion, check the rumor section

13-12-2005, 10:53
I dont care how cheesy it is i liked it. I could just see the BT saying those chants and those words while thier laying down the bolt fire!

13-12-2005, 11:12
Cheesy schmeesy. As said, it's a great use of limited resources. Those individual photoshopped pictures are quite good and conver the imagery of the hobby. What more do you want?

13-12-2005, 12:54
There are tau also there in green armour.
someone remenber to post a link for the campaign when they launch it

13-12-2005, 19:46

It was alright. Something along the lines of the DoW intro would've been cooler(however unlikely).

But for what is was, I liked it.

13-12-2005, 20:05

I'm so bored...

That's what it -should- read though.

I actually quite like it, though I don't get why people insist on using flash animations. What good has it ever done to a short film?

Oh, yeah, it's easy, I forgot.

Alrighty you US and UK (and all others, that make up this hobby). I live in Canada and this is the trailer for a nation whide campain. This is not Canada's first county wide campain either. Just as the new nid codex was coming out we had a campain which involved SM vs. Nids on one planet where each battle effected the over all outcome (which if i remember right was the bugs just barely winning).

As for this one called "Wrath of the Righteous" it will start in February, and from what I've heard some how run into/link up with the summer city fight campain that's been discussed. As for the races in this campain it will be SM (duh factor of 9.5), orks, nids, chaos, tau and eldar (if memory serves me right).

As for the quallity of the flash animation? Hey at least GW Canada is trying. Thinking of other such "animations" GW has done, this follows the same quality of the other ones I've seen.

14-12-2005, 01:49
Dont remember ever having a uk nationwide campaign, we always get lumped in with the rest of the poor and losers :p so depsite the rough n ready nature of the film, thumbs up to GW canada.

14-12-2005, 11:34
I thought the chanting and music complemented the gothic feel GW has been trying to show in the Space Marine chapters, the Black Templars in particular, the short film is only a trailer, so not meant to be oscar winning material. I liked it, it was short, sweet and has gotten my interest.

Good luck to all those playing.

14-12-2005, 12:28
I think it was pretty funny, not really good though. Then again they make miniatures, not movies...
