what do you use? i just bought a lizardman army off ebay that was painted, but no where near as good as i was led to beleive it was. so what do you use to strip off the paint? theres a ton of models so id rather not have to scrub them if its avoidable. and does it matter if its plastic or pewter?

what i do is let them soak in fairy power spray, normally an hour is enough. Then use a toothbrush and it does the trick.

Use Simple green for the plastic ones, i'm not sure if it works with metal minis though.
if it doesnt then use Pine-sol!

simple green is by far the best ive found, if thats not available, any sort of degreaser i find works with varying degrees of success. and any solvent can be used on metal models with relatively good results

is pine sol good for plastics too? cuz that's what I have and I don't want to buy simple green if I can just use pine sol.

As long as you keep handing them dollar bills, the layers keep coming off. :D

Seriously, EZ off oven cleaner spray works great for metal minis. If you can't find that, try Automotive Brake cleaner spray. Make sure that you use either of them outside and wear gloves, they are both kinda nasty.

Hmm. This at least third paint stripping topic posted this week, and it's only Wednesday. Does anyone use the search funtcion?

I used to strip with brake fluid or acetone, but nowadays I preder Fairy Power Spray. It works for both metal and plastic, but personally I don't see any point in stripping plastics. It is just not worth enough. On the other hand, I never buy second hand plastics either.
