This topic appears from time to time. I wonder if it would be a good idea for mods to make it a sticky one? Anyway, the discount retailers I know:

Australia

Milsims http://www.milsims.com.au/ They offer a standard 10% discount on all GW stuff, and their shipping charges are fairly low. They also have 'Crazy Specials' that are usually 20% off retail, although will sometimes be more... they had a LOTR package a few months back that included the Fellowship, Amon Hen and Orthanc boxed sets together for AU$55 (Normally $58.50 just for the Fellowship...)

SWHS: http://swhs.co.uk/ - I have purchased almost all my toys with them. The discount is one of the very best, unfortunatelly the shipping time can be extreme. The longest I've had to wait was 1 month and do not count on a time shorter than 2 weeks. Still the shop is reliable and I recommend it if you are not in a hurry.

NU Gaming http://www.nugaming.com/ - never tried them, the offer seems a bit out of date, stock info not available, plus I've heard they are closing shop.

The discount in the shop (buy it now option) is something like 10% (18GBP for Cadian Heavy Weapon Squad compared to GW 20GBP) and shipping is free on Buy It Now purchases.

Cut My Own Throat Games: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Cut-My-Own-Throat-Games - had some dealings with them. Reliable, on one occasion when Royal Mail lost the parcell they have posted a new one instantly. Discount is around 10%, but unlike The Maelstrom Games they do not give you a free postage, so the cost of Cadian Heavy Weapon Squad sums up as price 20GBP + postage 2GBP = 20GBP. That's the GW price. So using Buy It Now option does not seem to be a good idea.

GC Minis DOES charge 30% off, however they also charge tax. Up here in the Yukon, and the assorted other provinces that only charge 7% tax, it works out well. However, in the provinces that charge 15% tax, you can get cheaper.

On the other hand, their shipping, at least in Canada, is very cheap and very fast.

I highly recommend GC minis.

Nugaming changed hands recently and seems to have gone very quiet. I've moved to Maelstrom for my new stuff who via their website http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/
give a straight 10% with free postage.

SWHS are getting their stuff from GW only when you order it, hence the very slow turnaround. Maelstrom are within walking distance of GW so restock much quicker and hold bigger stocks.

There'll be a few readers unhappy at the England bias-all the Scots, Welsh, Irish, Manx and wherever else fits in.

:rolleyes: Well, yes everyone here in Canada pays tax:rolleyes:. No different than walking into a GW store and buying the same item:eyebrows:. However with a 30% discount, you pay.......wait for it......30% less tax as well:eek:.

GC Minis is actually about 28% off because it's 3% of the (discounted) order for shipping. However, still the best deal I've found. They have a good rep and now that I'm not Staff, I'll be doing my first-hand buying through them.

GW makes as much profit on stuff sold through the discounters as they do everywhere except through their own mail order. While GW US may have had a hissy fit over web sales most of the rest of GW seems to recognise the money it brings in.
