Heya,

The next White Dwarf is supposed to have rules for Daemon World armies. I'm putting together a league around this idea, but I would like to hear a bit about it as soon as possible! Anyone hear what this list will have?

Thanks!

I'm not certain about the armies bit, judging from the GW sites bit on next month it looks to me like it's for fighting within the terrain. The actual army I would imagine is covered by LatD.

"Chapter Approved: Daemon Worlds: This month, the notoriously depraved heretic, Scrivener Adam Troke, and his accomplice in heresu Archivist Hoare, provide rules for playing games of Warhammer 40,000 set within the nightmare landscapes of a daemon world"

Yeah no armies, just a new setting to fight in.

damn, it'd be interesting to see maybe beastmen in 40k

Beastmen in 40K can be done with the LatD list, use mutants with the 'goatheaded' mutation and model them using the beastmen range.

I haven't seen the list, I'm just recently returning to 40k.. is it a WD or codex list?

Lost and the Damned is a special kind of codex lists, using units from both imperial guards and chaos, and has a couple of own units as well. You can find their armylist almost in the end of the Eye of Terror codex that was released some years ago.

That's not the army list, that's a game they released rules for on the net that shares the name.

Beastmen would be in Imperium, as they are abhumans, like Ogryns and Ratskins

The rules were in the new german WD too. Some nasty things to be honest.
Imagine that the table is full of minefileds, vortexes, traps and other nastines. It is safe to assume that, given there is enough terrain on the table, your army will suffer more casualities form the deamon world itself than from the opponent.

Are there any IG doctrines added to the article (like with the Swamp rules)? It's just that I'm expanding my DH/WH inducted IG to a full (stand alone-ish) army. the 'story' is sortof that they help the Iquisitors in fights on Deamon worlds (like the Internal Guard mentioned the the eye of terror 'dex) and I was planning to use the standard Cadian doctrine rules (as the would come from Cadia) though it would be more fun to use some that are also anti-deamony.

As far as I have seen there are no doctines.
In the introduction they said that only Grey Knights are able enough to come back form a mission on a deamon world. For everyone else it's a suicide mission, either for the body or the mind.

I think the word was "Purified".

A trip to a daemonworld for most would be a one-way trip, Imperial Guard Regiments would be driven mad, (if not eaten completely) while Space Marines too are probably mentally scarred badly by the experience. So you can't specialise a Regiment for daemonworld fighting if the Regiment only gets one shot at it before going cuckoo :D

'Guard are killed outright. Weather they survive the battle or not. And that's also not limited to demon worlds, but through battling demon at all. They are posthumously awarded high Imperial honors.Space Marines are seen as too valuable to dispose of, so the Marines are mindwiped, and have to go completely through training all over again (including basic motor skills and speech training).

But I'm getting off subject, sorry.

Yet Daemon Hunters are allowed inducted troops.
Is that small bunch really eliminated every time they fight Daemons? or just for a Daemonworld?

They use the inducted troops for as long as the campaign takes. They are not allowed to mix with normal society, considering what they have seen. Should they need a confessor father, the ecclesiarchy will provide but he will take an enforced wow of silence afterwards or join the troops and meet their final fate.

Some Inducted Guard are mind wiped instead of taken out. In the Bleeding Chalice book there is a Storm Trooper Sgt. that the Inquisitor talks about that has been mindwiped like dozens of times.

Inquisitorial storm troopers are not inducted guard. I think that the strongest minds from the inducted guard might find permanent positions amongst the IST.

Are their any special rules for chaos marines? You'd think they'd be used to it after 10,000 years.
Or 13th co. space wolves for that matter.

I'm pretty sure that background of Space Marines being mind-wiped has been slowly phased out, as after huge battles such as the 13th Crusade, entire Chapters would have to be mind-wiped, or killed or whatever. Being mind-wiped reduces you to a drooling mess, having to be taught everything <--- from the ground up.

Also in a recent IA it mentions the vital role of Chaplains, how Space Marines fight Chaos, they see a mirror image of themselves, and thus the Chaplains have to make double sure that they pay attention to the 'spiritual purity' of the Marines.

I always thought that a powerful psyker could go into your mind and remove the last few hours/days. It would be disturbing for the subject (you're going to help me fight Chaos... thanks, you did a good job this week), but it would leave the soldier functional. This sort of thing would probably only be done for exceptional troops, but I doubt the Inquisition would be in a hurry to destroy their best men after one mission.
