Wondering if anyone noticed that in the troops entry the point values for weapons are listed only for 10 man squads..... What if you want a 6 man tac. squad? I coulden't find where the pts. values were listed independently....

Sorry if this is already, I couldn't find it.

No, they don't allow you those weapons under 10 man squads.

My 7 Cents.

You can't have squads of 6 space marines any more. Only 10 men tactical squads you can split up in 2x 5 men combat squads.

Pardon me, but I don't think that codex ultramarines allowed you to have 6 space marines in a tactical squad. Maybe codex space wolves did, I'm pretty sure codex angels of death also had proper tactical squads.

Maybe you're thinking of 3rd or 4th edition?

No you can have 6 tacticals, its just they can't take any upgrades besides the serge.

Maybe that was third edition... I just remember the ultimate squad arrangement was to have 6 man tac squad with either a plasma cannon and plasma gun, or multi-melta and melta gun.

Yeah, only 5 man or 10 man with the ability to split into 2 5man squads.

The norm nowadays is a 10 man squad split into
5 man with the heavy weapon
5 man in a transport with the special weapon and sarge.

Yes you can have only 6 tactical marines in a Tactical squad in the current codex, their entry specifically says "May include up to five additional marines at XX points per model". You just cant use any special or heavy weapons in the squad until you have a full ten.
