Yeah, the TV series. I put a post in the Lewis thread, then noticed this. And yeah, the episode is awful. Shame.

It's just a name check by a geek in a comic shop.

TBH it's more embarrassing than something to cheer about.

The current Red Dwarf is just a reminder of why it was not continued by the BBC... I think the writers of Hyperdrive may have been let loose on what used to be one of the most inventive and funny programmes around. They can't even parody themselves!

The episode was truly bad, it doesnt even explain anything about what happened, like the other hologram just appearing and the ship being able to sustain 2, when it is only supposed to be able to sustain 1!

it is a comedy. not a serious sci-fi.

they dont need to explain things. just needs to make us laugh

only joking...

TBH I thought it was fairly crappy as well. Kinda got lost in endless death throes of self parody. And the reference to Warhammer was just the annoying icing on the cake really :wtf:

only joking...

About 18 mins in when he goes something like 'hows the warhammer going ray' to that really nerdy comic book guy

*cough* Rimmer's lampshade hanging (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LampshadeHanging) *cough*

"It's a 3 parter. I hate 3 parters!"

All will be explained in the last episode (hopefully)

Remember that inter dimensional squid at the beginning? Yeah I would keep that thing in mind.

The shopkeeper of "They walk among us" when he is talking on the phone to the head of the Red Dwarf fan club. It is not hard to miss.

I'm massively perplexed here. How can you possibly get the two broadcast episodes mixed up when they flow into one another? :eyebrows:

The Dimension Squid is the first episode, all on Red Dwarf. The second episode (Where the comment is made) is mostly on Earth 2009.

Episode 2 of the new 3 part Easter special "Back to Earth" shown on the digital channel Dave in the UK.

The Dimensional squid appears in Episode 1 of the 3 new parter, the Suicide squid appears in Series 5, Episode 6 "Back to Reality", where the crew halucinate that they're really just characters in computer game. It is suggested in the other thread by simonjedi that the two are the same, however I don't think that they are.

Oh pandora you have truly done it this time. You are letting geeks speculate about the meanings to a TV show again.
