since B&C went down, I'd had no place to go to with my works. So I just thought about posting 'em here.

First, we have some Adepta Sororitas

And then, we have some Space Marine Concept arts..

and then, I have this one piece of greatness...

Though I love to paint, I nearly never do it. Only when I'm extremely bored or in school... so much for that education.. Else how, I mostly paint miniatures or sculpt warhammer sized Anime characters (Evangelion, Trigun, Hellsing and such)

I even tried to do some work to the "anargo sector" but it was in vain, and my thoughts about that project has abbandoned me....

As always, C&C is most welcome

Excellent stuff, I especially like the Space Marine's.

I dont like the sisters so much, but those marines are excellent. I especially love the powerfist on the first one. The cloth work on the emperors champion is impressive as well. I just hate those eyes! Why do such a good job and top it off with anime style eyes? It doesn't quite ruin it for me, but it doesn't add anything.

So far, thanks for the comments

Well, sadly, that is the techniqe I use to paint eyes - its actually quite usefull. It gives it a very deep feel... But some people hate it...

And yes.. I am very devoted anime fan  sorry, can't help it..

How is that battlescene between the Guardsmen and the Alpha Legion going:p We got a whole bunch more requests in the artwork section, including some new marine stuff, check it out!

Marshal Draziel

well, the rhino's done. 4 Marines are done (more or less) 2 guardsmen are done. But i'm stuck.... I lost my interest (that sounds cruel, but its true)

I'll post the finished piece, if it ever gets done... ( I'm only average, sorry) Deadlines are not my game... :cries:

whahadont worry about deadlines! At least post some WIP pictures:p

What about other Marine stuff? Or have you lost interested in the whole project alltogether?

Marshal Draziel
19-12-2005, 17:23
well.. thats a though question... I guess I was too devoted at the beginning, but then I suddenly lost my interest in the project - Its a great idea, but my painting skills + my a bilities with a scanner is shocking. (I really hate to scan pics, thats why I nearly never post any of them)

Sorry Malika - hope you can cope wothout my support - If I finish the piece, I'll post in on your site - but right now, I guess my "user acount" on your page is quite wasted :(

I like the space marines a lot. My favorites are the first and third ones. I am undecided about the eyes because I don't like them but I don't hate them either. Nice work.

Wow, you're bad at faces. It's ok, I suck as faces too, I just try to do something simple and either never colour in the iris and the pupil, or colour it all black, or have the dude wear a helmet.

Oh, and the first Sister is horribly out of proportion and drawn badly. The chains are good though.

Ah yes, TheSonOfAbbadon with his usual grace and tact

Nice work, Marshal Draziel. I'm not a fan of anime styles for 40k, but other than that, it's quite cool.

Thanks Cells - all people have their oppinions....

TheSonOfAbbadon has a point - Though I guess we do the work in different ways - I would propably also say something (un)nice about his work

The Faces are anime style. As I've mentioned before (but some people really dislike it) I love Anime - and I like to make a combination in style...

The Iris and pupils are also made anime style - not "real" as one could... This is also a very good way to paint model eyes! (I use it myself, and It looks great)

Disproportioned? hmm... Are you referring to her midsection or her right arm (which is pointing against the horizon/enemy) Plus - the legs (and the entire picture is anime style - thus the long legs and the very tight dress)

29/12 05 Update

I finished my work on the Alpha Legion Last Stand for the Anargo Sector Project. It's been under construction for a very long time...

Some nice work there. But I must agree with thesonofabaddon that some work still needs to be done on faces and also proportions.

Keep at it, there's some promising stuff there.

Yeah, you probably would...

I know they're anime style, they're still slanted and kinda rubbish.

There's not much wrong with the eyes, actually.

:eyebrows:

Well, the arm, the gun being huge, the long torso, the skinny waist, the left leg apparently not being there, the right leg apparently having a knee just as it goes under the dress, and the head being slanted and weirdly shaped.

Long legs are fine, most of my drawing have long legs, better long than short.

Though I respect your oppinion, comments such as these

I know they're anime style, they're still slanted and kinda rubbish.

Aren't really positive.... Especially when the faces are what I use most time at. (thus increasing my experience for each work done)

Alright, here we go...

Well, the arm, the gun being huge, the long torso

The left arm, is not that big. It's standard size. Its placed in front of the body, thus explaining the bigger proportions. (the Other arm is behind the body, thus, it is smaller) and Bolt Weaponry are huge (that I agree on)
The Long Torso is an error - It was meant to give her a tall look. It is a corset, so her body is streched... a bit too much sadly. The skinny waist? Its not skinny, its how I wanted her to look!? (If you study Anime girls, they're either too skinny or too fat)

the left leg apparently not being there

No, its under the dress- but apperantly, you could't imagine that.

the right leg apparently having a knee just as it goes under the dress, and the head being slanted and weirdly shaped.

The right leg is a bit too much I agree, but if you try and look closely, (and try to imagine the joint going further up) It actually looks cool enough. The head is placed so that its position is coherrent with the torso. I really don't think it's wierd looking... but as I said before - I respect your oppinion..

Long legs are fine, most of my drawing have long legs, better long than short.

Yup! And I love long capes, and everything anime or Spawn related - so my designs look a bit wierd... sorry... but its what I fancy...

on that new one, the main guy inthe middle has a bit of a long torso. I like how he's killing the imp tho. His ammo clip looks a little out of proportion to theactual bolter part. other than that, it's pretty good. especially like the gianthole created by that melta gun at the bottom.

This is my favorite part (attatched)

Nice stuff, the last one reminds me of the old GW art.

thats one small rhino, some work on the proportions would be good, but then again remember Jhon Blanche's works or Ian Miller.
I can see that your head's full of ideas and its great that your making something out of them, keep up the good work.

It is sad that the criticism is so high for such fun drawings. I like them. The hyper detailed, hyper critical world of the warhammer fan involves the worship of perfect painting and drawing and kills the development of future artists by discouraging them. Everybody has to start somewhere and the path to great greatness travels through imperfection. There is not a law or a rule on pg 57 of the rulebook that people have to be so negative all the time. Try saying something nice sometime it won't kill you. People can become better artists if they are encouraged to do so. Tearing people up because you have seen better is just crap!

I am not directing my comments towords everyone. Some people offer very good constructive critism but others seem to be taking some sort of sick pleasure in being mean. Definately followers of slaanesh.:p

If you're going to associate me with chaos, you might as well not spam and edit your previous post.

Also, the head either seems to be slanted to the right too much, or to the left too much and the hair doesn't fit.

And the left leg must be really REALLY skinny.

And the bolt pistol's still out of proportion, from what I can tell the barrel should be 3 normal fingers [or 2 big armoured fingers] wide, whereas it's about 4 fingers wide in your drawing.

thanks for the commets guys - I understand your criticism Thesondofabbadon! I 've made some errors, I aknowledge those - in the mean time I would like to add some of my other works-
But, it's not Warhammer.... so be warned..

These are various faces and portraits, that I've done in my sparetime...
(Mind you - Some of the following pictures are heavily inspired by Anime)

I am still perplexed why your marines are so damned good and everything else pales in comparison. You continue to perplex me as you draw anime characters in a non-anime style. Note though none of this is a bad thing.

I like lizzie the best out of the new set. Good composition, interesting peice. Although Vash is a close second, nice shadow and cloth work. Stylized to a point that it is interesting without losing quality.

and as for people being critical of posted works, people post at their own risk, and normally for help/constructive critisism. Would praise be as nice if their was not an element (or threat?) of critisism? I find the threads I post that recieve nothing but praise to be the least fufilling.

and I don't know exactly how to put this, but Rei looks like Marylin Manson.:p

thanks.... I velcome all kinds of comments! ;)

Rei looks like Manson ??? huuh, I didn't really see that untill now...
wow...

am proud of my marines - sometimes they look good, other times they look sick (in which case, I mark them as nurgle)

hmm.. Rei was made yesterday. I didn't really give her much thought, untill I realised that It was gonna be a fair piece .. and the colouring was hell - but I had to try...

Note - Vash is done completly from memory - no helping images or anything. :)
