Well, I’ve been in the hobby off and on for close to four years now, and after many started, but never finished projects, I’ve decided to make a log, and maybe even finish an army or two…or three…or four…. So I’m in the middle of a small Tau force, around 650 pts, and have decided that, in an effort to not to stray from finishing the army, buy nothing that couldn’t be applied to the Tau. Of course this failed miserably, and I started daemon hunters! The idea behind it was I would have a small force to fall back on when I got tired of painting tau/orks/whatever. To date, a have two squads of fire warriors, a squad of Kroot, a devil fish, two crisis suit, and a stealth team. As well as focusing my purchases exclusively on them, ive also decided that I'm going to go with a theme. They will be savannah themed. I plan to have Krootox modeled with lions, Kroot Hounds with hyenas, and the Kroot be heavily inspired by the warriors of the Masai tribe of Africa. As of now, I have one squad of my fire warriors painted, and another based and primed.

Hopefully Ill have updates almost regularly, but I have been rather busy with school, so they may be slightly random and sporadic. So, thanks for taking the time to read this, and hopefully ill be able to see this through to the completion of my four current armies. But heres some pictures:

I really like the 'earthly' colours on the Tau, also nice bases but I think the 'weeds' are a bit over the top, maybe you should use another layer (or a first layer) of Gryphonne Sepia wash (or Devlan mud) to give your models that depth, also a boltgun metal drybrush on the guns should work well

keep up the good work laterzzz

Thanks for the response! I had intended the grass to be the tall grass of a savanna, but the way it clumps does sort of make it look like weeds. I'm looking to get yellow static grass, and it should help tie it in a little better. the next squad around will definitely get another wash.

Actually no. Its the old in heavily diluted and splashed all over the model. Then i just go back and clean up with some watered down boltgun metal. Thanks for the reply.
