Hi, I had a thought about the price of codices rising and considered, if they can make a mini rulebook with only the rules, why not do it for the codices? charge $10 and have 'travel size' or 'fun size' or whatever. Good for people who don't care about painting and lore and people who don't want to ruin their nice codex in transport.

[edit] They could also stick it in with the battalion boxes as an extra incentive.

Most likely due to cost of making a second publishing in a different size format, and loss of sales of the full codex at full market price.

The only reason for the one with AoBR is that is a starter set and All players need the main rule book, where as if you play guard, you only need the IG codex and the Rule book.

I think there would be a decent number of people who would buy both if the price was right on the mini-dex.

Because of the horrible new format of the codexs, it's not really possible.

Lets list the unit in one place, with it's special rules, but not their wargear, and then list the cost, FOC slot and the wargear elsewhere. Forces you to use both pages for the unit until you know it backwards.

Taking the new Guard book as an example, this means the rules are scattered over at least half the codex: pages 29-71, and then 90-103. It just feels incredibly badly organised.
