Well I was inspired by the Travel Space Hulk article in Firebase #8 p145 so I went to ebay and got the Epic Genestealers I needed:

I have a total of:
5 Tyranid Warriors
1 Lyctor
5 Gargoyles
10 Termagants
50 Hormagaunts (double as Genestealers)
25 Genestealers
I'm thinking of how I can use the models that aren't Hormagaunts & Genestealers, but I'm sure rules could be found or made up.

And GW still sells Epic SM Terminators in 40 packs:

I'm altering the directions a bit & need to figure out how to do certain things. One of the big things I'm altering is the way it'll travel. I found this:
Aluminum Portable Desktop (http://www.amazon.com/Saunders-Redi-Ritet-Aluminum-Portable-SAU11017/dp/B0000225AQ/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in)
and am planning to use it or something similar so that it is all contained.

I'm also going to buy magnets. I know the article suggests using a hole punch on fridge magnets, but none that I have found are all that thin. I found a magnet (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/) site that I'm sure some of you are familiar with. I'm torn on which size to get. Bases of epic models are 7/32 of an inch or 6mm (how does GW decide their sizes? random? Necro bulk heads are an odd height as well.), but the magnet sizes are only 3/16ths (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D301) or 1/4th (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D401). So larger or smaller?

And speaking of magnets, I want magnetic dice, but I haven't found any. I'm thinking of just a magnetic cube (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=B555) with dots painted on. Not sure though. Multiple magnetic dice would be hard to roll, but magnets would be good for the car.

I'm not sure how to sculpt a sword or flamer onto a model that small, so I'm planning to just use paint to distinguish the leader & flamer models with a skull & flame on the shoulder. Sculpting suggestions welcome.

For the Tyranids, I'm just planning classic colors. Purple Genestealers, etc.

Utterly brilliant idea. I will be watching closely - I want to do something like this.
