Black Knights

Magic Karl
17-06-2009, 20:49
wow nice and unified looking! Keep it going, want to be seeing more of them.

18-06-2009, 03:24
Lovin' that colour scheme. Looks really sharp. Nice work. :)

18-06-2009, 14:20
Nice colour scheme, I'm in love with those black knights! Although, I think the green rims contrast too sharply with the red... makes it looka bit acidic... I'd go for a more pastel colour, a darkish brown maybe... like khemri or calthan brown, or even graveyard earth...

Also, where is that vampire model from? Never seen it before...

Seal Cub
18-06-2009, 18:00
Thx for your comments!

The vamp is from dark reapers legend.

Pics of grave guards coming soon!

Seal Cub
18-06-2009, 21:26
Sorry for double-posting..

But here comes some pics of my first Grave Guard!

Any feedback? Can I paint the rest of the unit like this?

18-06-2009, 21:34
I'd say you could definitely paint the unit like that.... they look ace!

Colonel Cleric
19-06-2009, 13:13
Looking brill so far, like the vampire character, i agree with Bob though in that the rims need to be a darker colour- Chaos Black or Dark Flesh would look good.

19-06-2009, 17:11
Holy crap that VC is amazing! Anyone got an ID on it?

Seal Cub
22-06-2009, 20:27
Hi there!

Got a bunch of new models in the mail today and wanted to share some pics with you, and keep a log on how theese models take shape!

I know theese are'nt the best pics, but they give you an idea of how th models looks! More pics to come!

First, a sexy female Vampire! This model will be my bsb, imagine a stripper leaning against a pole

Second, my necromancer, also this model is female...

And third, my Spirit Hosts, enjoy!

22-06-2009, 20:40
Awesome selection of models, necromancer model is sweet and i like the grim spirit host, may have to steal that idea for my own hosts.

22-06-2009, 21:02
The lord is nice.
Hope to see the other minis painted soon ;) btw they are awsome! where did you get them?

22-06-2009, 23:38
Great selection of models! Although, I do see a theme developing here...

BSB = Female "Stripper"#
Necromancer... = also female...
large amounts of spirit hosts. = female...

hmmmm I just cant put my finger on it...

I really like your choice of color scheme: the bright, blood reds contrast well with the pallid bones of the undead. The splashes of black here and there help to break up the punch of the reds.

In that vein, there's almost too much red on some of these models for my taste; a bit of a strain on the eyes. I think a little shading on the banners, shields, etc. would be a good way to tone it down a little. You might use a slightly darker red or add more dark colors like you've done with the Grave Guard (the browns, specifically). And I'll agree with previous posters: the green bases aren't doing it for me. Match them with the tones you have on your Black Knights and everything will be all good, I think.

Good to see you're using some wonderful Reaper sculpts. I'm excited to see how they turn out. Keep it up!

Seal Cub
23-06-2009, 12:56
Completed my Grave Guard unit today!

Next up is a necromancer and then I will have a 1000 pts army ready for battle! Yay!

23-06-2009, 13:27
1000 pts already! That's impressive.

My mate wants to collect Vampire Counts (the so-and-so is moving in on my turf). Blood Dragons have always been his favorite, I'm going to use your black knights as an example to show him.

Great stuff!

Seal Cub
23-06-2009, 16:30
Thank you for your kind words!

Got the necro done in only a few hours! :O

so, here goes, my 1000 army! I know that some of the pics sucks, but my cam died so more and better WILL come!

Cookie Cutter Hero
25-06-2009, 02:29
Wow, great job on the Necromancer! When I see your units all together like that, I really can see how unified your color scheme is. Pretty intimidating, IMO. I'm excited to see where you go with this, or any other future projects.

Seal Cub
25-06-2009, 07:59

This is only 1000 pts of a 2250 pts army so there's bound to be more!

Next up is either a bsb, the general or 40 zombies..

Seal Cub

Started working on my Vampire Lord. I've started with his nightmare and here comes som WIP shots!

Seal Cub
06-07-2009, 20:51
Got a lot done this evening! :D

I can proudly present the creator of my army, the lord and master of Sylvania, Lord Frederick Von Arion (still working on the name :tongue: )

06-07-2009, 20:59
Looks really cool, nice paintjob!

06-07-2009, 21:03
where did you get the mounted lord from, its arwsome and i want one.

Seal Cub
06-07-2009, 21:24
Thx! :)

Picked him up on ebay, but you can also buy him here (http://www.coolminiornot.com/store/product.php?xProd=3792&jssCart=63d88458b59511381f4ffa53809c4460)

Got my Spirit Hosts done today, didn't take much time actually. I'm however very pleased with how they turned out!

07-07-2009, 21:52
They look really cool, nice work! You are really quick at painting!

vinny t
07-07-2009, 21:59
This is a crazy good plog. Will be watching with interest!

08-07-2009, 03:29
Wow, nice plog, especially considering the speed with which you are painting the minis!

Personally I would use that vampire lord model as a Blood Knight (if you intend to field them) just so you can field more of them!

Other than that, I only have one point of critique: the banner of your Graveguard. It's not that it's not beautiful or that it lacks anything its just too.... Orcy. That opened beak looks more like a O&G or BoC symbol to me than that of an ancient elite personal guard of some royal dude.

Keep it up!

08-07-2009, 08:09
Wow, really nice spirit host! It's great that you used some non-GW models, I don't really like the current (;

That mounted lord is awesome!

Seal Cub
08-07-2009, 15:01

Her is a pic of what I have completed so far! It's about 1500 pts.

08-07-2009, 15:48
the army as a whole is looking really nice and the colour scheme is strong and not too over powering on the eyes. but i have to ask why you have some bases rimmed green and some brown? any reason behind that or just by chance?
cause id try to stick to a whole set on one colour. i myself always choose black.

Seal Cub
08-07-2009, 16:04
Well, I started of with green bases, but changed my mind half way into the project, all bases will eventually be brown, I've just not done it yet :P

08-07-2009, 20:27
What will you be painting next?

09-07-2009, 15:18

Amazing Army so far, really liking it. You need to get them bases done though will make it look so much more unified, I'm going to be starting up my vampire counts quest for domination soon, going for an empire feel though.

Look forward to seeing more of your army.

Bob: Next up is probobly 40 zombies.. Just need to buy them first!

Seal Cub
09-07-2009, 16:35
Played a game at a friends house today and took some pictures if anybody is interessted..

09-07-2009, 17:21
Nice paint job and a really nice selection of models.

Where did you find the models for your spirit hosts and female necromancer? they 're awesome!!!

Seal Cub
10-07-2009, 11:05
Worked on my vampire lord's equipment the other day and desided to go with the following:

Walach's Bloody Hauberk
Book of Arkhan
Master of the Black Arts
Dark Acolyte
Avatar of Death: Great Weapon
Power Stone

Then I found this model on ebay, how perfect isn't he?!

Seal Cub
10-07-2009, 22:34
While waitng for my 40 zombies to arrive, here are some WIP shots of one of my vamps..

11-07-2009, 10:31
Thats a really cool model, I like the face, do you not like GW vamp models?

Seal Cub
11-07-2009, 10:40
Hehe, no, in fact I HATE GW's vampires! :p Glad you're liking it so far :)

Seal Cub
21-07-2009, 13:51
BRAAAAIIINNZZ!!!....... The shambling horde has finaly been assembled! I'm soo gonna hate these guys when I've done about 26 and realise that its almost half the hord left!

Anyway, here are som pics of my assembled zombies!

21-07-2009, 15:16
out of all the Gw models zombies are the best you can do so much with them !

22-07-2009, 10:03

I can imagine them all saying "I just wanna hug!"

Nice work, cant wait to see them painted!

22-07-2009, 10:09

Funny, I've never noticed a unit of zombies with their arms all raised forward like that even though thats how they appear in typical movies illustrations etc. Very cool.

Seal Cub
22-07-2009, 17:40
Lates addition to my vampire family! My lord with the cursed book and mutton chops!

The camera messed with the red a bit, it look better IRL I'm afraid...

Group Shot!

22-07-2009, 19:35
I think the only thing that ruins that vampire with the book is the mutton chops!

Seal Cub
25-07-2009, 14:57
Started of with a test squad of brain eaters today, would appreciate some feedback and/or criticism before I continue wit the remaining 40 :p

25-07-2009, 16:11
The blood and gore don't come out nicely and I also think that the models could use an extra shade.

Perhaps this tutorial can help you on the blood and gore department.

I like your choise of colors. Maybe the result looks better if you use a wash for shading instead of drybrushing for highlights.

25-07-2009, 16:29
Liking your them!

The edge of the bases could be a clearer color and you could easily do some miracles with either dipping the zombies or with the new washes.

Other than that - I've despised vampires in the current edition and started to build my VC army around necromancer. But your choice of models has proved to me that I might find some suitable fangers to add into my army.

26-07-2009, 18:11
I would suggest trying some inks on the zombies at least give them a more rotting look. It would add a whole lot more depth to the models

26-07-2009, 18:32
They're quite nice, although the skin is too pale IMO... maybe a wash would help?

Seal Cub
27-07-2009, 13:17
Here are some WIP pictures of my latest creations!

Fisrt up:

-Battle Standard
-Avatar of Death
-Dark Acolyte
-Crown of Commandment
-Power Stone

Next, some early WIP shots of my wraiths, two now, gonna be four soon.

-Empire wizard body
-Glade Scout Head
-Skeleton head
-Grave Guard GW arms
-Grave Guard Shoulder Pads
-Zombie Scythes

C&C welcome!

27-07-2009, 14:24
cool wraiths its a nice alternative to the gw metals.

Seal Cub
30-07-2009, 11:24
Half way through the shambling horde! I know these are not the best minis I've ever painted but since there are so many of them and I want to paint my other stuff, I set the bar pretty low. Got delvan mud on the way as well as green wash for the eyes as well.

30-07-2009, 11:55
Some highly original ideas for conversions and alternatives minis here.

Great log so far!

30-07-2009, 14:27
It was a pleasure looking through your log. I like your style of painting a lot and also the different non gw models.

vinny t
30-07-2009, 17:26
Very nice! I especially like the Wraiths!

31-07-2009, 11:28
Great work! i love it all!

Seal Cub
03-08-2009, 13:46
So many brains, so little time....

I've finally completed my shambling horde! As Ive said before I put the bar pretty low in these because they're so many and will only ever be used in game when summoned..

03-08-2009, 17:21
Pretty slow... Yeah... I've like 12 of my zombies painted... And I believe I started after you...

The look on these is strong and fitting. A couple of questions/ideas:
a) are there some "unpainted" shirts on the zombies? Namely (for example) guys on the back row at the bottom picture?
b) are you going to keep the edges of the bases painted as such? In pics it looks cool but I would think that in real life it looks kinda messy?

And: how the hell did you manage to paint all of them so fast?

Seal Cub
03-08-2009, 18:01
Damn, I never realised that they had shirts! I my painting fury I assumed they were naked from the waist and up! That will be corrected!

The bases will be kept that way! It actually looks really good IRL to! Besides, the edges will not be seen when they're on movement trays ;)

How I managed to paint them so fast? Well, I had a day of from work and my girl didn't :D

03-08-2009, 18:19
How I managed to paint them so fast? Well, I had a day of from work and my girl didn't :D

Say no more. I'm having one of those this week. Hopefully I'll get my "Tale of Fantasy Painters" started and some VC pics online.

03-08-2009, 18:48
Hello there,

I really, really like your choice of models - this was a real eye-opener for me. I have exclusively used GW models (although some of them are old) in my armies - although this is obviously due to ignorance on my part..

You have a wonderful theme, and I will be following your progress with great interest.

I think you have some cool knight conversions, but you should remember to remove the mold lines in very exposed areas as they reduce overall great models. Sorry for this ;)

Seal Cub
04-08-2009, 15:42
Thank You all!

Started on my blood knights today! Basicly they're just chaos knights with ghoul heads and a new hair cut but I've also spent some time removing all the chaos insignias.

Left to do in my 2250 pts army is

-8 Grave guard
-8 Ghouls
-5 Blood knights
-5 Black knights
-3 Fell bats

Seal Cub
04-08-2009, 20:53
Removed the spikes and replaced the lances. Better or worse?

04-08-2009, 21:03
I prefer the look of the lances - decidedly better, and it sets them further apart from the chaos knights

04-08-2009, 21:07
Very nice work here mate, I like the way your zombies have turned out, I may have to pinch your ideas for wraiths and blood knights because they look awesome, especially the blood knights.

Seal Cub
04-08-2009, 21:12

swifty2: Feel free! Glad that you like it! :)

04-08-2009, 21:18
I prefer the lances, are you going to paint them all ethereal?

Seal Cub
05-08-2009, 07:24
^Not at all, these are blood knighs and not Black knights.

05-08-2009, 08:08
Lances + ghoul heads work really good! I just might have to steal this idea.

05-08-2009, 15:38
i will agree with the doc here, they are looking really nice indeed!
whats the plan on the arms where the shields have been removed?

05-08-2009, 18:40
whats the plan on the arms where the shields have been removed?

Bretonnian man-at-arms shields! Accept no substitute.

Seal Cub
07-08-2009, 10:08
^Thats a great idea! I'll look in to that!

07-08-2009, 10:49
You could try LOTR army of the dead shields, like in my blog.

Seal Cub
10-08-2009, 20:08
Started working on my Black knights without barding. Used bret knights bodies, skeleton spears, grave guard shoulder pads and grave guard heads. The horses are chaos marauder horses.

vinny t
10-08-2009, 21:47
Wicked conversions there! Very nice work!

10-08-2009, 22:02
i really like the blood knights. i might steal that idea. shamelessly of course.

11-08-2009, 04:53
I'd try to rise the heads of the black knights a little bit. Now they're quite sunken beneath their shoulder pads which looks odd.

Seal Cub

Two wight kings.

Seal Cub
14-08-2009, 08:16
Finished my Grave Guard unit!

14-08-2009, 16:35
Good job, your colour scheme works very well :)

Could I ask for how you built up the colours on your spirit hosts? I am planning to redo mine, and I am on the lookout for good ideas.

Seal Cub
22-08-2009, 11:09
The spirit hosts are VERY simple!

Base Coat black
Coat with Shadow Grey
Drybrush with space wolves grey
Drybrush lighter with skull white

22-08-2009, 18:47
Funny, that's what I use for the skeletons in my own army, but for some reason it does not seem to be the same colour scheme..

Anyway, thanks! - I'll try out some different things once I get to that part of my project list and post WIP to get feedback on how to proceed.

Seal Cub
26-08-2009, 11:17
My first attempt at painting ghouls.

This is all models in my 2250 pts army, including the ones that are left to paint.

(Siprit hosts and zombies will only be used when summoned..)

Larger image: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7240/armyprogress.jpg

28-08-2009, 16:53
looking really good dude whats the recipe for the ghouls skin i just might have to use that for my zombies (i like grey zombies dont know why)

Seal Cub
29-08-2009, 03:08

1. Base coat black
2. coat shadow grey
3. drybrush codex grey
4. ligther drybrush of fortress grey
5. wash with badab black
6. wash with delvan mud
7. done!

29-08-2009, 06:59
Wow!! Really nice work here. Can I ask you how you painted the Zombie flesh? I've got a Chaos Giant that I want to paint exactly that color!

Thank you!

29-08-2009, 07:52
An awesome army so far, been looking at it over at CN too and everything looks great!

The only thing I have to say is that the new Black Knights and the Blood Knights that you have converted seems to be missing their necks. What you could do is make a small round balls out of greenstuff and attach their heads to that before you put it on the bodies. I think it will look better. :)

But keep up the good work, hope to see those new additions painted soon. ;)

Seal Cub
29-08-2009, 10:30
Thanks everybody! Warms my cold heart ;)

Wow!! Really nice work here. Can I ask you how you painted the Zombie flesh? I've got a Chaos Giant that I want to paint exactly that color!

Thank you!

The zombies are
1. Base coat black
2. coat snakebite leather
3. drybrush elf flesh
4. drybrush rotting flesh
5. done!

02-09-2009, 07:26
Love how your characters look and your Wight Kings with the enscrolled weapons. I am deffinattely going to have to borrow your idea for ghoul heads for Vampires!

02-09-2009, 09:40
Nice work on the army!

02-09-2009, 11:26
Very nice VC :)

Love the wight kings!

My Blood Knight test subject!

C&C welcome!

05-09-2009, 00:03
liking the blood knights especially the highlights and layering on the horses though id give the knights armor an other highlight to make em pop a little more

05-09-2009, 01:11
Excellent work so far, but i agree with giving the armor another highlight to make it stand out. I really liked the ghouls as well.

Seal Cub
06-09-2009, 17:00

Yes, an additional highlight should do the trick! Will do that ASAP!

Seal Cub
11-09-2009, 10:44
Finally completed my wraiths. Just painting left..

Also, made a couple unit fillers of leftover parts!

11-09-2009, 11:03
the wraiths look great!

13-09-2009, 19:55
Absolutely stunning!

Just read the whole thread so far, fantastic army. :)

I am looking to start my own VC army soon - I can honestly say this thread has backed the inspiration!

Seal Cub
14-09-2009, 21:14

Glad to have inspired you! Lokking forward to see your plog soon then? ;)

15-09-2009, 04:46
I might just have to barrow your blood/black knight and wraith ideas for my own vc.
do you plan on adding a corpse cart?

Seal Cub
15-09-2009, 11:00
No plans for a corpse cart yet, but who knows what the future holds? ;)

Hadriel Caine
15-09-2009, 11:49
lovely army, the alternative models are great ( I too hate GW vampires)

Your Blood Knights look just like mine.
The first female vampire is particularly great and the zombies are inspiring, never before have I imagined that painting 40 would be possible...

15-09-2009, 20:42
The wraiths look great mate, like the unit fillers too, just finished some the other day, they're really fun to make.

16-09-2009, 11:44
should have checked this log earlier..
great stuff..
just one comment...
on your second page you have some pictures of your battle and you seem to have covered the middle of the field with terrain...
actually you should leave a spot of 12 inch from the middle to each side open...
thats all
sorry for being a nag....and keep up the good work

Dr. Acula
19-09-2009, 17:02
Fantastic looking minis. I'll be starting a VC army soon (I was going to do BoC but the vamps just keep pulling me in).

I think I might have to steal the idea of the Gamezone minis though for the mounted vampire - he looks awesome. Who makes those vampires on foot? I'm also not a fan of the GW vampires (I'm sensing a theme here) and those look pretty good.

Seal Cub
20-09-2009, 17:03
The vamps on foot is from the reaper series. www.reapermini.com I think it is.. Or something close to that.. :p

Glad you like it! Hope to see your plog soon then?

I'm currently working on painting my wraiths, should be done soon, work is really killing me right now though.

Dr. Acula
20-09-2009, 20:05
Perhaps a plog, although it wouldn't be particularly impressive. I'm back to uni soon so won't have much time, but there may be a unit in the mix in the next week.

The boyz
20-09-2009, 20:14
Nice work on those Wraiths, Seal cub. Looking forward to seeing them painted. I like the unit fillers as well. I like the way you have modelled the skeletons emerging from the ground.

Seal Cub
21-09-2009, 17:17
There! Got them done at last!

C&C welcome as usual!

21-09-2009, 20:57
Nice work. Are they cheaper than the metal ones?

Seal Cub
21-09-2009, 21:22
They are if you have the parts laying around ;) Not sure otherwise, have'nt calcualted the total cost, though many of the bits can be bought from the ebay store Hoard 'o Bits.

Dr. Acula
21-09-2009, 22:05
Nice work again - what were those Wraiths made of, they look stunning?

Hadriel Caine
21-09-2009, 23:35
they look sweet. good job mate.

Seal Cub
22-09-2009, 10:47

Recepie for Wraiths:
-Empire wizard body
-Glade Scout Head
-Skeleton head
-Grave Guard GW arms
-Grave Guard Shoulder Pads
-Zombie Scythes

Seal Cub
24-09-2009, 22:23
Finished the ghouls tonight!

C&C welcome as usual!

24-09-2009, 22:29
Nice work. It seems that a couple of them have black eyes (1st and 3rd in the front rank), while the others have white, are they blind? ;)

Dr. Acula
24-09-2009, 22:50
Very nice - my ghouls look so bad I don't think I'll be using them if at all possible, although I did shamelessly steal your idea for idea for a Black Knight conversion.

Seal Cub
24-09-2009, 23:31
Thx! :D

mrtn: Those two actually have no eyes so I guess they're blind ;)

Dr.Acula: No problems mate! Glad to have inspired you!

25-09-2009, 09:07
The ghouls look brilliant, Seal!
Almost like they're in crypt comoflague :p

static grass
25-09-2009, 09:50
Very impressive stuff. Just let me say that it looks like your painting is improving too. This can be annoying at one level but I think you will have a great army here.

1 question... Where did you get the grave stones that you use in the spirit host bases from?

I really like those, well done!

25-09-2009, 23:42
Wow man. Liking everything here. The wights are great. The blood knight is cool. And grey is a really good color for the ghouls. The bases look really nice, too.

Thx for the comments guys!:)

1 question... Where did you get the grave stones that you use in the spirit host bases from?

They where included in the blister packs of the models them selves.

Have tried some speed painting on my latest regiment of skellies. All of these were done in just two days, total painting time 15 hours. What do you think?

Thanks! Yes, they are currently for sale on ebay!

Finished my Black Knight Without Barding tonight!

Nice work on both the skeletons and the knights.

One gripe - those grave markers with the headstones and grasping hands are at strange angles with each other - graveyards are often very organised/ to leave space for each buried coffin.

It would seem that I accidentally locked my own thread. So a small bump here ;)

15-12-2009, 21:39
Really great looking army. Have been interested in VC recently and I think red is the army colour I'd go fo myself so is even nicer for that.
The BKs (both units) are really great imo and the skellies for 15hours work are really nice, couldn't achieve half that in that amount of time.

Looking forward to more.

I LOVE your conversion work! Particularly the Black Knights, they are awsome!!!! :Dcan you please send me the exact recipe and some more pictures at Hugomedd@hotmail.com because i HATE the GW ones, they were not updated with the other models (as you must know) and the skeletal steeds look so... Skimpy or insubstantial like they would collapse if you jumped on their backs:(. Also the models on their backs aren't much better, they should look more like mounted grave guard... So please send the info because i wasen't ever going to include them in my army till i saw your models.

Interesting take on the unbarded Black Knights...

Nice and striking color scheme of the army! I think red goes very well with VC..

Love the conversions of the black knights and wraiths, nice looking army, some food for thought here

Its been far to long since I painted anything dead so I decided to pick up a few undead reinforcements! :skull:

I've already assembled the grave guards and last night I started painting! Got the first six done, I'm sticking to a rather simple scheme since I'm working three armies at once now

Whatcha think?

Don't know what happened to the light on this one..

Thanks for making a great project log! I'm using your technique for converting the Blood and Black knights. I've been suscribed for a couple weeks now, but didn;t want to necro the thread if you weren't posting anymore. Glad to see its still alive and well, keep up the great work!

EDIT: Can you post some pics of your Blood Knight unit all painted, assuming its done?

Well, there's been some considerable delays on my work with my army for some time now, for that I apologise.

I finally got around to finish my GG's!

Tomalock: Sorry but they are still to be finished:p

Not a bad start, i think maybe the dress could use with being blended up abit more and perhaps putting a wash over the skin, atm is seems abit odd as you have a flesh color peaing through from under the grey bits in places.

11-06-2010, 23:26
I have to agree with logan in that maybe you could go for a little more blending and get some light-dark contrast going with the dress. On the other hand however, I do like the deathly palour skin tone she has with the grey over the fleshier tones. I would also like to say that i really like the paint effect on the GG banner :)

12-06-2010, 12:44
Wow! Really enjoyable plog. Really like what your doing with the chaos knights, they look miles better than the metal BK's which inho look crap.

Great stuff, keep it up

Thanks friends! :)

Finished both my dire wolves and one of my corpse carts today!

The wolves were done in just 55 minutes!

I like the modified corpse cart. Still looks right, but is unique.

Just read the whole thread,

really like what you are doing with the project

Finished these today! First up, my second Corpse cart.

And next, my Varghulf:

Amazing army so far. I just bought 2 battalions of VC and the bretonnian one but have yet to assemble them, seeing this thread has given me some awesome ideas.

Graveguard, the vampires, your corpse carts. Fantastic army overall with some great ideas that everyone should use.

I especially like your 2nd corpse cart, consider it stolen.

Did you add the washes to the zombies? If so please toss more pics up.

Got these beautiful mantic revenant knights in the mail today! I'll probably use the champ as a WK though and use them as a 9 strong BK unit led by a WK.

Here are some wip shots of my mantic cavalry, still need to figure out what to do with the shields and I'm not sure that I'm 100% satisfied with the flesh on the horses....

Missed your last few updates, really like your corpse carts, and congrats on your first 2500pts of VC. The black knights are a little red heavy perhaps, but looking good nonetheless, really nice models. Love the fell bats too, good positioning makes them look very dynamic. Looks like you'll be hitting 3000pts in no time!

24-01-2011, 20:49
Just went through this entire blog. I love it!!! I just started my very own VCs army, fresh outta 40k. Your painting has been very inspirational to me. I couldn't even figure out a good colour scheme for my zombies, but I will look no more!

25-01-2011, 12:40
Those vampire bats are amazing! What did you use as arms?

Seal Cub
25-01-2011, 20:27
THank you doc_cthulhu!

Those bats are Rackham Wampyrs I just repainted and stuck on flying bases^^

I've also not posted my ghouls yet..

I've never liked the fluff of warhammer ghouls and I've always thought of them as some kind of greater zombies, which I think their stats represent really well, T4 and poison. With that in mind I decided to use a mix of mantic ghouls and zombies ans the ghouls for my army.
