So I am in this campaign at my local store and I have to make a 1500 pt Tomb King list. Without the king I had to pick my special slots carefully and this is what I made.

20 Tomb Guard, musician, standard bear, Icon of Rakaph - 298

1 Screaming Skull Catapult, Skulls of Foe - 110

Looks really good, but both priests can't have cloak of the dunes, drop that on the non-hierophant, and give the other one staff of Ravening. That staff will make its points back guaranteed.

Thx, I forgot I could not use two cloaks, so I took it off of one Liche Priest and got rid of the Skulls of Foes to get Staff of Ravening.

its pretty good but how do you intend to use the archers?
you don't seem to have enough for most roles other than annoyance (which is better suited to cavalry imo)

tomb kings have decent ones but you'd need a larger number of them to have any real effect

also scorpions are very useful if the opponent has artillery

Hey, sry for posting again but it looks like I might have to change my list around a little. It seems that instead of challenging other players we were given a list of players that we have to battle against. Two of them are running Empire armies with modest to heavy firepower, 20 handgunners, cannon, rocket battery. etc and I was just not sure if my army could make it across the field especially if the opponent goes first. The Empire also have magicians with dispel scrolls so I might be tough getting spells off.

Well this is my changed list any comments would be helpful.

So that's 1399, I'm hoping to try and get the Scorpions up in his lines while the rest of the army marches forward.

I still have 101 and if I get rid of one chariot and the SoR I have 186, maybe enough for another block?
I am not sure though what to get.

How about a few swarms? They're great for killing wizards or war machine crews (especially with icfb -- they're potentially even better at this than scorpions) and you could afford a couple of bases without giving up the SoR. Then you just add a 20th warrior to the third block and you're golden.
