Just wondering, best I can think of is a Khorne Chaos hero on a Juggernaut with an enchanted shield (-1+), anyone know of something that can get better than this?

Hmm....

Old-Blood on Cold One with enchanted shield and light armour is -1+ as well.

On foot with Hide of the Cold Ones, shield and hand weapon (using venom of the firefly frog) he's 1+ and 0+ in hand to hand but also T6, which is damn impressive.

-1+ is the best that you can get for the time being, but this may change with future releases.

It used to be higher!

Once my friend told me there is(was) a Dwarf character with -2+. Dont know it is true.

there was also a -2 against shooting I believe (DE or HE with those cloaks).

Those cloaks are like an extra set of heavy armor against shooting ;)

not this editon, the best they can get is a 1+ (either MRO Gromil or shield bearers, shield, rune of stone Gromil armour)

DE w/ hv armour, cloak, CO, enchanted shield is still 'only' -1+

The dwarf character with -2+ is usually made when the player doesn't notice the line about shieldbarers restricting the save to 1+.

However I do believe that it's a 1+ rerollable which is arguably much much better than -1 armor save, except against the strongest attacks

1+ rerollable is better against S5 and lower, otherwise -1 is better. and even then its just marginally better against s5

Can you have gromil armour with dwarf runes? or is it always heavy armour?

You can get to -1 with gromil, or 0+ with heavy (in CC anyway)

dwarf heros have gromil, but which ever way you try the best you can get is a 1+ (we can be re-rollable) you can't get better than that due to other restictions

Couldnt a daemon get a -3+ save? I heard so many people saying that they could.

Eek!, how do you do that. I can't think of any better than 1+.
steed:5+
light armour: 6+
enchanted shield: 5+
scaly skin(?): 6+

which would make for 1+

stripsteak

daemons i believe can only hit 0+
armor of khorne/obsidian armor on a juggernaut

So can't you do;
Gromil armour = 4+
Shield = 3+
x3 runes of stone = 0+
facing forward = -1

I've checked the book, seems ok. Is that illegal?

Some people tried to have multiple armours at the same time on the same daemon since they were gifts and not armour. Hopefully we will not see that discussion again.

Yep. Old Blood basically have chaos armour standard and can get light armour on top of that. Scar-Vet gets the equivalent of Heavy Armour (5+ Scaley Skin)

Not to mention they're both T5 base :D
