View Full Version : A Lick of Paint

Hey guys, long time lurker here, finally decided to show some of my stuff :)

So basically I've come to that point where it is just getting too expensive to continue, and as such I'm going to be selling everything. But, as I really enjoy the painting side of things, I've decided to paint it all up before i sell them. Now I know this will probably decrease their value or such, but I'm not too bothered by that. So, after their finished I'll be putting them up on ebay, or if someone see's something they like I'll probably sell it directly.

Anyway, enough talk, check out my photobucket for pics of some of what I've got to do: http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n159/Captain-Raiun/WIPs/To%20Do/

There is more, but I'll get to those when this lot are done.

For now, to keep you all interested, here is the 1st wip of Haldir, one of my favourite mini's at the moment. Only his skin done so far but there should be more done by tonight.

Woah, just realised how large the pic is, sorry :wtf:

Anyway, updates soon =]

Looks like you have some work ahead of you.

Nice skin tone so far, it looks great! How did you go about painting it?

Thanks. Yeah, ALOT of work ahead, like I said, there's more where they came from.

Skin was pretty simple actually, just a case of Elf Skin and then successive layers of Elf Skin and Skull White, adding more SW each time. I wanted a brighter tone than some of the elven skin tones I've been seeing, so thought why not try the obvious. Oh, I added in a few glazes of purple and blue in as well, just to give it that "otherworldly" sense

Great start!

Very nice sin tones there. It really looks like you know what you're doing!

I wouldn't worry about depreciating the value of your models if they're painted as well as this!

Looking forward to more!

I second BoyMilla's sentiment. With this kind of painting, you would only increase their value, and I am not kidding. That is some of the best skin I have seen in a while.

Cheers guys! I've got to say, I am pleased with it myself, one of the best I've done I think.

Anyway, got a small update for you.
Now please bear in mind that the gold is very definately WIP, and the purple inner robe is nearly done, just need to add another shade I think. Also a WIP of his base, going for something simple here, though it might be too simple...hmm
