stank says things w/o strength qualities cant hurt it, so what about thump? (2d6 autowounds). also eadbut doesnt have a str quality for the giant either.
if this is another stank loophole i may just poop my pants

It is.
Both attacks don't have a Strength value so they can't hurt the tank.

EDIT: Ugh, I should really just stop posting in the rules forum :(
It's starting to show I haven't gamed in months...

The day someone uses that on me I claim full victorypoints for the tank as it is a warmachine that has no crew. Either that or pack up my stuff and walk away.

I think the Giant should get the damage of the 'Eadbut instead of the tank. Must be pretty stupid to 'eadbut a 30-ton mass of steel! But then again... giants are so it would at least give you a very characterful situation. Can't blame the giant: Steam tanks are said to be so rare so it is no wonder it would expect to hurt it with its massive head.

well if you can shove a steam tank down your pants ....

Only spells with a given strength value can hurt the steam tank.

Now, is thump with club a magical spell that the giant casts?
Methinks not.

Still, I think just for the sake of reality the 'eadbutt should work as I described...

but indeed, only magical attacks are held off by the tank when they don't have a S characteristic. Thump still works, and is very effective I reckon! Should be, the roof of the tank is made out of wood for *** sake. Engineer will never survive a full blow on the head by an enraged giant!

Giants are a Stank's worst nightmare. They can reduce it to uselessness in one turn of combat.

Shame they come with armies full of cannons and guns. Bad things for a giant.

Getting hit by a Giant should cause some damage. Though I would like to witness him trying to stuff it in his pants.

Maybe he takes off his pants and stuffs them in the tank?

How about ripping open the steam tank and using it to make new pants?

Maybe he takes off his pants and stuffs them in the tank?He then lights them on fire.

Just to clarify things, the Steam Tank automatically passes any characteristic tests it is required to take aside from initiative, AND it cannot be affected by spells without a Strength

Giant attacks arent spells so theres no issue i guess. Eventhough i understand the pants replies are just for fun, its good to note that giants have different attack tables for US1-2 models and for US3+.

you can't stuff a tank down a giant's pants
its big so the pants idea is out

then again chomping on a stank (chaos giant) would be fun to see!

you are right, but you are wrong about why you are right.

a giant cant' stuff a stank down its pants because a giant can't pick a stank up, because "pick up and..." is a result on the small targets table, which the stank obviously is not. the others were joking above

As far as I can tell, thumping the STank is incredibly effective. It automatically fails initiative tests, so you can't miss. The prohibition on attacks without strength values only applies to spells, so you do your full 2d6 wounds to it, and it gets no armour save. That's an average of 7 wounds! Whammo.

So out of curiosity, what portion of the Stank does a Chaos Giant "CHOMP" that allows him to regen? If it was against the VC, I could see needing the Iron to replace red (green?) bloodcells but the Stank is an Empire unit.

Donšt forget that there are soft, yummy engineers inside. In that aspect it is a bit like canned food - with the additional feature of an integral steam cooker!

think less healing wounds and more huge armourd plates growing out of the giant
