Greetings everyone. This blog I dedicated to my Tomb Kings which I have always wanted to start.

The first are my 3 TK archers which I converted from the VC skellies (I don't like our current ones for they are just to out of proportion).

I've now begun work on painting them and will upload them soon.

cheers.

Looking pretty nice, although the one on the right might struggle to fire from there :p
Also looks like you might have missed a few mould lines, make sure you get those before painting :)

Update...

I had actually finished these guys earlier but my computer was playing up and I couldn't send them in.

Here are the archers painted.

That's a really great paint job! The bone looks very good and the coloured quiver really pops and gives the model some colour. If you keep up the quality like this you will have a beautiful army.

Yep, amazing painting. Hope you have the motivation to keep it up on whole units! :)
One thing I notice; the brown part of the quiver of the one on the left seems to lack the depth of the other guy's... Maybe lacking a black wash or something?

Cant wait to see the swordsmen :)

Yeah that was purposely done just to give a bit of variation with the quivers.
It was given more of a light blending look.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone:).

They look really nice, the blue and red work really well with the placid bone colour, excellent work!

tecnically awesome..good colour choice and transitions are neat and clean..
the only con is that they look too much clean (I mean their look not their paintjob) to me...maybe the quiver and the bow should look a bit more old and used.. as the bones... think if you make them look a bit dirty they will look even better

Note that the old skellie I began painting before I started using the VC skellies. I will just count him as my champion.

They look vastly better than the TK skellies do! The new skeletons really fit my imagination of an undead horde and are far more evocative minis. Your larger "champion" looks especially mean with his bony bugeye!

Very nice start !
I especially like the bone color, but your blue is clean and crisp, just as I like.

This is way I paint the bone:
First of all my models are black undercoated.
2nd: I basecoat them with Deheb Stone (2 coats to give a nice clean coverage)
3rd: I wash the bone with devlan mud
4th: I then paint the bone with Kommando khakai leaving the shaded area's resisdent .
5th,6th: Are highlight stages: First Kommando/Bleach Bone mix (50/50), Then Pure Bleach Bone.
7th: Is a highlight of Bleah Bone/Skull White (50/50). This stage though I only Highlight on the rasied areas and Blend them into the Bleach bone.
8th: I paint Skull White on the really small and detailed points (Teeth, Elbow ending, Knuckles etc.

At first it took me awhile to do but once I got the hang of it and where abouts to highlight it became alot quicker and easier.:)

cheers.

PS: Most of the highlighting stages need a fair amount of water mixed in the blend better, Mostly Part 7 and 8.

Wow, quality skeletons! The bone is done very well - how long does it take you to get it painted?

Well at first the bone took me around 4-5hrs (Not including drying time for the wash) total to do on my 3 archers.
Now that I now how to do it its takes me 3-4hrs to do it.

cheers.
