No. It's just the look.

If it's the ones with the vents on the back, I think that's all they are, vents and nothing more. I suppose you could add some additional detail though if you wanted to, but if you ask me it'd stand out a little to much.

No, the vents are different. This is a hole a round hole that goes right through the pack. It looks very much like a place to insert something.

I don't have one to hand to look, but as far as I'm aware it's just a part of the design, not for any other purpouse. Could always block it up with so greenstuff if your not kern on the look.

I think thats a miscast, two of the backpacks in my last tac squad has small holes in the backs right in the center about the size of the circle end of a purity seal, which is what I covered them up with. does that sound like your problem?

Pictures would help here.

There are 3 current SM backpack designs in the tactical box. There's big skull (http://www.bitzbox.co.uk.php5-2.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_27_48&products_id=268&osCsid=tvq0oba7fpctbbked4ohbr0192), extra vent (http://www.bitzbox.co.uk.php5-2.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_27_48&products_id=267&osCsid=tvq0oba7fpctbbked4ohbr0192) and flat panel (http://www.bitzbox.co.uk.php5-2.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_27_48&products_id=377&osCsid=tvq0oba7fpctbbked4ohbr0192).

If they look like none of these, you may have a miscast.

It sounds like I may have miss molded flat panels in this kit.

The hole is in the flat panel ones right DjtHeutii? and it could almost go the whole way through right?

Yeah, that does look to be the case.

Ok then its a miscast, if you bought it from a GW store they will probably replace it for you if you bring it in and show them. If you bought it from an independant stockist you may be as SOL as I was when I bought a box of sternguard and got 4 sword bretheren in it (someone seems to be trying to get me to play templars :) ) Or you could do what I did and cover the holes with purity seals.

qft, i've had a number of miscast 'blank' backpacks. fill the hole with modelling putty if you were planning to paint/decal that area, or use something like a purity seal if you weren't.
