I did search and did find one thread, but didn't want to revive a thread from 2006. I notice that people say dwarfs get 2 + 2 dispell dice, but I can't seem to find it in the book. I would have thought it would have been under Special rules, but its not.

Under Dispel and Power Dice section in BRB. I forget the page number.

I was stumped by this question back in 6th edition. I knew for a fact that dwarves started with four dispel dice, but couldn't find it anywhere in their armybook. It took a while before I thought to check the rulebook instead, and there it was.

There's a lot of things GW takes for granted regarding player knowledge. I'm not sure if they hate repeating themselves, or think we all should have a copy of the BRB.

...Or they just know that if they repeated it in the Dwarf book, people would claim they got six dispel dice; two basic, plus two from the rules for Dwarves in the BRB, and plus two more from their own rules in their own army book. :D

Should be in the Army Book. Makes no logical sense to keep it in the BRB.

It does when your starter set includes Dwarfs.

They did it in 6th edition too, and there were no dwarves in that starter set.

6th started with Ravening Hordes though, so having some army-specific rules in the rulebook made a little sense.

Yes, how dare GW expect that people playing their game own the rulebook. That'd be like Microsoft expecting you to own an Xbox to play Xbox games.

This posted in the Fantasy rules forum no less.

In a group, not everyone buys a BRB for personal use.

Yeah, therefore it shouldn't be in the dwarf armybook. What kind of fool would want all the dwarf rules in their dwarf book anyway?

They could have always put the army rules in Ravening Hordes

A reminder in the Army Book would have been nice. There's no need to completely repeat the rule.

I always try to find it in the AB, then remember (usually) that it's in the BRB.

An army book should have all the relevant information required to play that army effectively, or at least a reference as to where exactly to find that information.

Be careful what you wish - lest you encounter what happened with the mark of Khorne in the Hordes of Chaos book (where there was a nice little reminder about the effect of riders frenzy on the mount, that was later on supplemented by an interesting FAQ answer).
