Do people do this at all? In what situations/units does it work well?

usually, if i have both a necromancer and a corpse cart in the list i'll get the two of them together. Carts are harder to kill when inside units.

i think a necro should always have one of these to ride around on. makes the necro a bit harder to kill and as the cart is going to be behind your lines anyway and the necro is a support caster then it makes sense. plus you can put the cart in a unit this way which i don't really do alot but its an option.

From my own experience, I found that corpse carts just weren't worth the points I spent on them in my army. The bound spell was rarely worth it and while the -1 to casting was handy sometimes, it just didn't justify the 100pts I spent to get that -1. And combat? Forget it.

Anyway, bottom line is that I don't put my necromancers in corpse carts and if I did take a corpse cart, I'd rather my opponent tried to shoot it than keep it 'protected' in my units.
