Eagle

TOTAL POINTS = 2000pts

Casting Dice 10-12 + ring of fury
Dispel Dice 5 + 1 Scroll

The phoenix guard are the ultimate bunker. With magic resistance 3 and -1 to hit for shooting they should be tough to shift.

The 2 mages should have plenty of dice to play with and provide a very good magic phase.

The rest of the list supports my bunker unit.

Ultimate bunker, until they're contacted.

I've never played HE myself, but looking at your characters, I would give the Archmage Seer Staff. I would probably give the archmage Ring of corin and a dispel scroll, and give the mage Ring of Fury and the Silver Wand. That way you now have 2 bound items to help out the magic phase.

ring of corin is Arcane and silver wand is arcane. Thats a confliction with the allowance so no go there. But the list looks good. But guys, caradryan's going to make the phoenix guard kick so much a$$.

You didn't read my post. Ring of Fury is enchanted, and I suggested put that and the silver wand with the level 2 mage.

Well I got confused becuase you said "give the archmage the seer staff" then you said "i'd give it ring of corin and a dispel scroll"

Ok, I can see where you got confused.

As for the list, I don't think sacred incense is necessary since the Archmage and Caradryan will already be in a unit that has heavy armor and a 4+ ward save. I'd spent the points on something to help out the magic phase.

yeah sacred incense is a waste there. the 4+ ward is enough i find. swap the items around on the heroes for a more optimal setup. try giving the mage scroll and ring of corin, and give the archmage ring of fury, scroll, jewel of the dusk (or seer staff if you wanted). mage will cost 175 and archmage 335 or 350 depending on how you kit him. if you want to be really nasty with the unit, try also giving the archmage the amulet of light =P

Or you could upgrade one of your dragon princes to a champion and give him Amulet of Light. That unit would be great at taking out ethereals.

Going with Silentstalker's setup, you could also give the level 2 mage silverwand.

So basically your setup could be:
Archmage: Ring of Fury, jewel of dusk, scroll (4 spells plus 1 bound item)
Mage: Ring of corin, scroll, silver wand (knows 3 spells plus 1 bound item)
